I recently had the opportunity to view Wicked Pictures‘ latest release; Sexy. The film, directed by acclaimed director Brad Armstrong, stars such top-tier talent as jessica drake, Alektra Blue, Kaylani Lei, and Ash Hollywood, to name just a few. Set in a burlesque theater, Sexy combines hot sex, dance, and one of the best soundtracks you’ll hear in a porn film all year.
While 2011 is shaping up to be the year of the Porn Parody (with Brad Armstrong’s Rocki Whore Picture Show being a terrific example), Sexy represents an original, highly entertaining, and well produced film that is a joy to watch. Before getting into what I liked so much about Sexy, allow me to first talk about the plot of the movie. Sexy is, as I mentioned, set in a burlesque theater and features a series of six scenes, each introduced by the host of the film, James Bartholet.
Each scene is self contained and begins with the performers performing various strip teases, set to an R&B, Rhianna-sounding set of songs. From there, the scenes explode into a hardcore sex act. As each scene comes to an end, James Batholet comes back on stage and, with whimsical, rhyming narrative, introduces the next scene.
Sexy | What I thought about this movie…
I really, really enjoyed this movie. Unlike many (most?) porn films, Sexy doesn’t have any sex scenes that run any longer than needed. At no point during this movie was I like, “Okay. Let’s get on with the next scene, already.” This is because director Brad Armstrong does a great job of making each scene a fairly short, but very intense, burst of strip tease and sex.
I don’t think any of the scenes ran longer than ten minutes. Additionally, James Bartholet does an amazing job as the host of the whole thing. He nails this role and adds a lot of flare and personality to the film. Finally, the soundtrack featured in Sexy isn’t your usual, shitty, forgettable music. Instead, you are treated to tunes that, if you didn’t know any better, you’d swear were ripped off the Top 40 charts. All of this combines to make the movie feel very fun and provides a highly entertaining mix of everything that good porn should be.
Which, of course, all features a lot of incredibly sexy, highly talented performers. And make no mistake, Sexy is a porn film that has more than its fair share of smoking hot talent. The film covers a wide spectrum of sex, including a M/F/F threesome, three and four girl lesbian scenes, and lots of S&M themed, fishnet-ripping action. Alektra Blue, jessica drake, and Ash Hollywood deliver amazing performances.
While jessica drake, Alektra Blue, and Kaylani Lei are known for their top notch porn performances, and are widely regarded (with good reason) as some of the best and brightest in the industry, Ash Hollywood, in my opinion, delivers arguably one of the strongest performances of the film. While all of the dance moves were stunning (Brandy Aniston especially), Ash Hollywood steals the show with her performance.
The bottom line…
From start to finish, Sexy was an absolute joy to watch. While not one of the big-budget porn productions (such as Horizon) that the adult industry is cranking out with increasing frequency, Sexy still manages to come away as one of the most entertaining porn films that I’ve seen this year.
This is one of Brad Armstrong’s most impressive pieces of directing and I gained a lot of respect for the diverse talent demonstrated by all of the talent, especially Ash Hollywood. Sexy is one of the best and most fun porn films you’ll see and I highly recommend it.
