Many are accusing the former pornstar of duping investors in her CryptoSis NFT…
As of this writing, Lana Rhoades is ranked as the number one most popular adult film star on Pornhub. She is far less popular with people who’ve invested in her latest NFT offering. Rhoades had promoted the CryptoSis NFT as a “lucrative investment for holders”…and then she withdrew over $1.5 Million worth of cryptocurrency from the NFT’s digital wallet. And then when investors called her out on that…she deleted her Twitter account.
I’m not accusing Lana Rhoades of committing any kind of fraud or committing a crime. However, the circumstances surrounding the apparent fall of her Cryptosis NFT project certainly give the appearance of something shady. Why did she withdraw the ethereum currency from the Cryptosis wallet? And why did she then ghost everyone on Twitter?
To quote from an article appearing over at Bitcoin.com…
Lana Rhoades is being condemned by people in the crypto industry for her role in an NFT project called Cryptosis, which features 6,069 NFT cartoon images of the adult film star. Rhoades is accused of withdrawing a large sum of ethereum (ETH) from the project, according to a video published by Coffeezilla.
The claim is that Rhoades touted her NFT collection as a “lucrative investment,” but after the withdrawal and myriad statements stemming from the project’s Discord channel, belief in the Cryptosis NFT project has plummeted.
Coffeezilla and others have called the move a “rug pull,” which is a term widely used in the crypto industry to describe a project that raises a large sum of value, but then the creator abandons the project and takes the initial funds raised as well.
Before deleting her Twitter account, Lana Rhoades posted a series of tweets that fired back at people who were criticizing her for CryptoSis failing to pan out as a profitable investment. Here’s a screen capture of those tweets…
In another article posted to Decrypt.com, it was reported that Lana has stated that she plans on keeping any profits made from the minting of the CryptoSis NFT as a means of paying the development team behind the project.
Who is Lana Rhoades?
Lana Rhoades is an American adult film actress who made her XXX debut back in 2016 and performed up until around late 2018. While she was only active within the industry for a relatively short period of time, Lana achieved superstar status and quickly became one of the most popular and in-demand starlets in Porn.
Hugely popular with smut fans, Lana won multiple major industry awards including the 2017 XBIZ Best New Starlet and 2018 AVN Best Anal Sex Scene trophies. Die-Screaming ranked Rhoades as one of the 10 best female pornstars of 2017. Some of her best work was featured in such films as Interracial Icon Vol. 8 (Blacked), Gangbang Me 3 (Hard X) and Facialized Vol. 4 (Hard X).
After leaving Porn, Lana Rhoades achieved some level of mainstream fame after she began dating influencer Mike Majlak. The two had/have an extremely volatile relationship and at this point I’ve lost track of whether they’re together or broken up. Seeking to make the most of her popularity, Lana also got into the NFT game, with CryptoSis the latest of the projects that she’s publicly promoted.
