In what is being described as the “porn parody event of the year”, director Axel Braun and Vivid Entertainment are preparing to release Superman vs Spider-Man XXX. Based on the 1976 comic book that was jointly published by Marvel and DC Comics, Superman vs Spider-Man XXX sees two of the most popular superheroes in history join forces against Dr. Octopus and Lex Luthor.
As I mentioned above, Superman vs Spider-Man XXX is based upon the classic 1976 Marvel/DC comic book. Axel Braun, a huge geek and long-time comic book fan, went out of his way in the production of the porn parody to make it something that any comic fan can appreciate.
For those that don’t know, Axel Braun is one of the most successful and respected directors currently working in the porn business. A perfectionist who obsesses over even the smallest details, Braun also happens to be a lifelong comic and movie geek. Unlike most porn parodies – which usually come across as cheap and forgettable – Braun has made a living at making high-quality, intelligent, and entertaining parodies that are often well received by fans, even by people who don’t generally enjoy porn films.
As an example, his Star Wars XXX: A Porn Parody featured a relatively massive budget (for an adult film, anyway) and earned a lot of mainstream attention for how true and respectful it remained to the source material, while still putting a humorous new spin on things.
In an interview given to Die-Screaming back in February, Axel Braun described Superman vs Spider-Man XXX as “possible the best movie ever made.” And while it probably won’t be taking the top spot in anyone’s “Top 100 Movies of All Time” list, it might be considered one of the best porn films ever made. I say that – even without having seen it yet – because Axel Braun has shown an incredible talent at taking Marvel and DC superheroes and brilliantly incorporating them into entertaining and exciting porn parodies.
Having already produced such best-selling films as Batman XXX, Spider-Man XXX, Superman XXX, and The Avengers XXX – all of which were very well received – Braun clearly has a strong grasp of what it takes to produce a hit. Even is Superman vs Spider-Man XXX ranks as only the best Axel Braun film of all time, it would by default also be one of the better adult films ever produced.
Superman vs Spider-Man XXX is set to be released sometime in November of this year.
