I’ve been posting about Superman vs Spider-Man XXX: A Porn Parody for a while now. Back when I interviewed director Axel Braun in February, he described it as being “possibly the best movie ever made.” Last night, my copy of the film arrived in the mail and I had the chance to finally sit down and watch it. With all the hype Superman vs Spider-Man XXX has been receiving, I was curious to see if it could actually live up to all the excitement surrounding it. When all was said and done and the credits were rolling, I decided that, yes, Superman vs Spider-Man XXX was a damn good porn film and was very deserving of all the attention.
Before getting into the review, it’s probably worth taking a moment to provide a little background. Superman vs Spider-Man XXX is directed by Axel Braun – a lifelong comic book fan – and is based off a comic that was published jointly by DC and Marvel Comics back in 1976. The plot has Doctor Octopus teaming up with Lex Luthor. Obviously, this combination of super villains necessitates Spider-Man and Superman teaming up to stop them. In addition to the title heroes, Superman vs Spider-Man XXX also sees appearances by Black Cat, Ms. Teschmacher, Supergirl, Marry Jane Watson, Lois Lane, Liz Osborn, and even a cameo by Green Goblin.
Superman VS Spider-Man XXX | What did I think?
Superman vs Spider-Man XXX features five hardcore sex scenes that star a variety of Marvel and DC superheroes and villains. The movie opens with Spider-Man (Xander Crovus) getting it on with Black Cat (Jazy Berlin). From there, it moves to Lex Luthor’s hideout. When Supergirl (Kagney Linn Karter) drops in to foil his latest plan, it leads to her and Ms. Teschmacher (Alexis Texas) getting freaky with each other.
The third scene features Superman (Ryan Driller) swinging by Mary Jane’s (Capri Anderson) apartment to see if she can help him find Spider-Man. She agrees to help, but only if he agrees to fuck both her and Liz Osborn (Lily LaBeau) at the same time. Scene four is all about Lex Luthor (Eric Masterson) having sex with Lois Lane (Andy San Dimas) in front of Superman. The final scene of the film stars Spider-Man having a grand ol’ time with Spider-Woman (Jenna Presley) in a back alley.
In my opinion, the highlight of Superman vs Spider-Man XXX was the third scene, starring Superman, Mary Jane, and Liz. It goes without saying that if you’re going to have Superman fuck two women, those ladies had better be up to the task. In Lily LaBeau and Capri Anderson, Axel Braun found what turns out to be a perfect combination. Anderson plays MJ perfectly, delivering a performance that any Spider-Man fan would approve of.
And then there’s Lily LaBeau, who’s performance in this scene stands as another example of why she’s one of the most talented women currently working in porn. Collectively, these two girls gave Ryan Driller a run for his money and made him earn that “S” on his chest, which he certainly did. Everything about this scene was great.
I also have to take a moment to talk about Jazy Berlin – who plays Black Cat – and her performance in Superman vs Spider-Man XXX. As one of the most sexualized and fantasized about female characters in comics, the bar was set pretty high for Ms. Berlin going into this role. However, she didn’t seem to have a problem in rising to the occasion. With her skin tight black leather jumpsuit and flowing white hair, Jazy couldn’t have looked more the part. Additionally, she perfectly delivered Felicia Hardy’s sexy/dangerous attitude and her performance in the opening scene of this movie will no doubt earn her quite an even larger fan following than she already had.
Overall, Superman vs Spider-Man XXX was another solid production from Vivid Entertainment and Axel Braun. However, if I had to level any criticism at the movie, I’d have to say that I was really disappointed with how Doctor Octopus was used. Yes. I know this is a porn film and I’m critiquing the way they used a super villain who didn’t even have a sex scene. But the comic geek in me just wasn’t all that happy with how easily Spider-Man was able to just shoot some webs at Doc Ock and have him defeated. It was as if he was just some random thug as opposed to being Spider-Man’s greatest enemy.
The bottom line…
Superman vs Spider-Man XXX is one hell of a porn movie and one that any comic book fan would probably enjoy. Doctor Octopus aside, Axel Braun has genuine respect for these characters and this film does a great job of taking characters directly from the pages of comic books and putting them into a porn flick. A lot of work went into the costumes and casting of the movie, with a focus on getting the small details right. Everyone involved with the making of Superman vs Spider-Man XXX – from the special effects to the on-screen performances – deserves a high five. Very well done and highly recommended.
