Porn superstar passes away at age 35…
When the world learned yesterday that porn superstar Shyla Stylez has passed away, it set off waves of heartbreak and shock. Social media was abuzz with outpourings of grief from those that worked with Ms. Stylez and those that had been fans of her work and incredible beauty. Hers was a flame that won’t ever be replaced.
As of this writing, an official cause of death hasn’t been released. It’s been reported that she died in her sleep while staying with her mother in Canada.
I never met Shyla Stylez. But over the span of time that I’ve been writing about porn, I’ve seen much of her work, witnessed how much her peers and fans adored her and observed the impact that she’s had on the adult film industry. She was a true XXX legend and I’m not just saying that because of her passing.
The impact she had on her industry, her fans and even just casual observers of porn can’t be overstated.
Who is Shyla Stylez?
Shyla Stylez was a Canadian adult film star who started her hardcore career in 2000. She quickly became a fan favorite and was signed to an exclusive contract with Jill Kelly Productions up until 2003. At that point, she took some time away from the industry after a divorce but returned to XXX three years later in 2006. She performed her final scene last year.
Over the course of her career, Shyla Stylez appeared in over 500 dirty videos, including some of the best-selling porn titles of the Millenium. Some of her most high-profile work was in films such as Pirates 2 (Digital Playground), Nurses (Digital Playground), Fallen (Wicked Pictures) and Ass Worship 2 (Jules Jordan Video). In 2016, Shyla was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame.
When I recently compiled a list of the ten greatest Canadian pornstars of all time, Shyla Stylez was ranked third.
When you consider the number of films in which she performed, the number of years in which she was active within the industry and her legion of fans from across the Earth, she had very few equals.

Shyla Stylez must be remembered as one of the most elite adult performers of her time. Through the years, she starred in several of the best-selling porn movies of all-time, is a Hall of Fame inductee and was highly regarded by both her peers and fans. Most importantly, Shyla will be remembered by those that knew her for her warmth, kindness and incredible personality.
While Shyla may be gone and taken from this world entirely too soon, she will never be forgotten.
