Raven Alexis Faked Having Brain Cancer?

Many are claiming that Raven Alexis lied about her cancer diagnosis…

Quite a while ago, I posted about Raven Alexis and her battle with what she described as late stage brain cancer.  At the time, she was describing a really tragic situation and continued to post regular updates on her Twitter and Facebook accounts, at times implying that the end was near and that she would be lucky to live until Christmas.  She even went on Howard Stern’s radio show to give her fans an update on her condition.

Now, it seems as if most people, including several who know her personally, believe that she was faking the whole thing.  Faking terminal brain cancer?  Really?

Before going any further, I will say that I’m no doctor, I don’t know Raven Alexis, and I’ve seen no medical evidence proving that she never had cancer.  That being said, her story is starting to wear a little thin.

For starters, she isn’t talking about the cancer any more and she’s back to performing in both the porn and exotic dancing industries.  If she did have terminal brain cancer, and was going through the associated medical treatments as described on her social media profiles, this would represent a miracle recovery.  From near death to performing hardcore sex scenes in less than two or three months?  Additionally, her longtime boyfriend recently broke up with her and kicked her out of his house, then took to Twitter telling his followers about how she “lied about everything”.

At this point, quite a few people are openly talking about Raven Alexis and her lying about cancer.  From an article over on AroundThe.net…

“Rumours are frothing up fast & furious that infamous adult-star (and ex-member of this very site) Raven Alexis faked her brain cancer. She went from claiming she’d be dead by Christmas (from Stage 4 liver cancer that spread to her brain), and accepting support, gifts, etc… to being “miraculously cured” via some alkaline-heavy mineral water, and back in front of cameras a month or so later.

Raven seems to be on the warpath to defend herself too, pushing to have this article published that goes on and on about how she’s a struggling single mum (she actually doesn’t have custody of her kids, and only has visitation to them, her ex-husband has them), and talking about how she’s struggling to make ends meet now that she’s given up the adult industry… even though she’s selling herself for $1700 a night, and is active on MFC.

At the same time, she has tried to wipe every trace of her ever having cancer off the net.

Her Facebook page has been deleted, which was the hub of her “I have cancer” interaction with fans… she had been sharing hundreds of cancer quotes, blogs, pictures of her with a shaved head, etc, bathing in the attention and pity thrown at her by legitimately-upset fans and friends.

She wiped her Twitter account of all cancer-related tweets (but you can never really delete stuff off the net), then locked her Twitter account down. Her recently-ex-boyfriend very publicly broke up with her and kicked her out of the house, recently ranting on Twitter about how “she lied about everything”.

And while this article, which seems to be researched very well, doesn’t come right out and accuse Raven Alexis of faking cancer, it does shine a very bright spotlight on some apparent holes in her story and some behaviors that would seem inconsistent with someone as seriously ill as she was claiming.  Also, when you claim to have beaten stage IV terminal brain cancer after drinking a weird type of mineral water, expect people to have their doubts.  Here’s a sampling of what people are saying about the situation from various blogs and forums around the Internet…

“This woman has hurt so many people in her history of lying. She has claimed a BA in Criminal Justice, a black belt in hop ki do, adopted then posting pics or posts of seeing her dad and sister, a prima ballerina going to attend Julliard but her ankle held her back, to saying on the Stern show she was accepted to Havard Law School. Her Age? and two kids she would have had to started all of this around 4 years old. She is a sociopath and absorbs other peoples personalities into her own and likely believes it. If you have followed her close friendships with people she usually copies them at some point. I feel that other performers having diagnosed with cancer was the next copy cat. I hope her children do not follow in her path… I feel sorry for her. She is the modern succubus and she is a cancer to the adult industry.”

“Rumors have been flying for a long time now, actually, that Raven Alexis is a pathological and compulsive liar.  She apparently lied about being admitted to Harvard Law School on the Howard Stern Show, she lied about being a black belt, she lied about being accepted to Julliard, and numerous other “accomplishments”. If she truly does suffer from some psychological problem in that regard (whether she’s delusional or just likes to deceive people), then faking cancer seems like just another lie in a long train of them…”

“Ps. That December toy drive she did smells fishy too. No photos of interaction just a pic in front of the hospital and a photo of the gift cards.”

“actually i ve been following her on twitter. in mid december someone on her twitter was talking about how her goal was to live until christmas. january 15th or so she is back on cam masturbating. how do you go from your death bed to masturbating for money on cam in less than 4 weeks ? also apparently her husband left her recently. something is up with her. i dunno if she totally faked cancer but i m pretty sure if she has cancer its not the kind she is saying and surely isnt stage 4.”

And then there’s the Twitter reaction…

I don’t know if Raven Alexis faked cancer or not.  I do know that when I learned of her “having” it, I was shocked.  Like most people, I’ve lost friends and family members to cancer and whenever I hear about anyone having it, it’s hard not to feel horrible for them.  If this was a scam, and again, I’m not saying that it was, I genuinely hope that some sort of legal action is taken on behalf of all the kind-hearted people who actually donated money to this woman.  And if it everything happened the way Raven Alexis described it, well, I hope whatever mineral water she used to cure herself is now being given out to cancer patients everywhere.

Update: 18 February 2013

It’s been almost a year since I originally posted this article questioning Raven Alexis’s claims that she ever had any kind of brain cancer.  Since then, we really haven’t moved any closer to getting a clear understanding of what all is going on with this.  For her part, Alexis has told the Howard Stern Show that she really did have late stage brain cancer, but it went into remission after she underwent “holistic” treatment.  Her ex-fiance, however, still maintains that he was with Raven Alexis at doctor appointments when she was told that there was no trace of any cancer in her body.  So, someone is obviously a big, fat liar.

Since all of this faking cancer stuff kicked off, Raven Alexis hasn’t appeared in any new pornographic films and has been keeping a pretty low profile.  She deleted her original Twitter account but then replaced it with a new one last year.  She used it to send out a total of two tweets to her 1,244 followers, both of which have since been deleted.

It’s understandable that Raven Alexis would want to stay out of the spotlight.  If you believe that she’s a recovering cancer patient, she’s obviously been through a lot and needs the time to recover from almost dying.  Not to mention having her fiance break up with her and sites like this run stories questioning her medical condition.  However, if you don’t believe she ever had cancer, keeping a low profile is probably a good idea considering you just made yourself look like a complete ass in front of the entire Internet.  It could also be that since the controversy came to light, porn studios, directors, and other performers are reluctant to work with her.

In my opinion, I think Alexis faked this whole thing.  Why would she do that?  I have no idea, but I would have to believe it’s some sort of combination of mental illness and an unhealthy need for attention.  Should any additional information on this story become available, I’ll be sure to keep everyone updated.
