As of this writing, Poetics For Tramps has been sitting in the number one spot on Die-Screaming’s Best Selling Porn Chart for multiple weeks. So I guess I’d better write something about it. The film, a collection of four vignettes that originally appeared on the Deeper member site, is bursting at the seams with all-star Porn talent. I mean, it even features a TWELVE person orgy.
That…that’s a lot.
Kayden Kross directs each of the scenes in this joint. That’s all I need to know to make me wanna watch this thing. I’ve said before and now I’m telling you all again that Kayden is hands down the greatest director currently working in XXX. Three of her films — Influence: Emily Willis (Vixen), Psychosexual (Vixen) and Muse Season 2 (Deeper) — appeared on Die-Screaming’s 10 Best Porn Movies of 2021 list. There is nobody making better smut than Kayden Kross right now. Nobody.

So why has Poetics For Tramps been the best-selling porn movie in the world for multiple weeks? I already told you that Kayden Kross directs this thing and believe me when I say that plays a significant role in making it something special. The films that she crafts just tend to feel bigger, better and weightier than most of the other offerings currently out there. She’s delivered award-winning blockbuster movies on enough occasions and across consecutive years that she has to be considered the very best in the business.
Also, have you seen the lineup of women featured in Poetics For Tramps? It’s incredible. The films features the talents of 14 XXX starlets, all of them elite-level performers who could each headline most other smut films by themselves. The reigning XBIZ Best Performer and Best Leading Actress, Maitland Ward stars in two of the movie’s four hardcore scenes. Angela White is a three-time AVN Female Performer of the Year award winner. And Scarlit Scandal and Kenna James (and Angela White, too) were included on Die-Screaming’s list of the 10 Best Female Pornstars of 2021.
The production value that Deeper invests into its smut is yet another factor that makes Poetics For Tramps stand above most of the other XXX offerings currently on the market. In addition to being helmed by Kayden Kross and having all of the skills and talents that she brings to bare, Deeper (and of the Vixen family of brands) clearly has a whole lot of talent working behind the scenes to make these productions look as slick as they do.
And above all else, a Porn movie is only as good as the hardcore fucking that it offers up. Spicy storylines and masterful cinematography is cool and all but people buy dirty movies for the sex. And this movies serves that up in buckets. It’s nearly three hours of intense hardcore scenes, including a group sex scene that stars a dozen performers doing all of the sex things that humans can possibly do to one another.
So, yeah, for all of those reasons…Poetics For Tramps is the number one Porn movie in the world right now.

It’s not a bad attempt to enter the territory of high-quality art porn, but I wouldn’t say that it’s really successful if we evaluate this whole film, so to speak, although it consists of four separate short stories that are not related to each other in any way, not only plot-wise, but even stylistically (the latter could be think it over). Actually, the film is cut into these four parts.
The first two I generally squandered quickly (although I looked at the very beginning of the first part, it really shows this very poetics, as the whole film is called).
The third one hooked me. The fourth one was also viewed by me with some interest, but there is nothing special about it at all.
In my opinion, only the third part deserves attention, which, personally, if I were the producers, I would put up as a separate product with the conditional name “The New American Decameron”. This is where one man and several women in a kind of Dionysian aesthetics with a touch of decadence, the scene stylistically resembles ancient Greek orgies and, it seems, it was created and filmed with such an idea. Moreover, it seemed to me that the whole scene from beginning to end was shot, as they say in cinematography, in one frame or even in one take. And this scene is not easy in every sense. You can write a short cultural essay on it.
In terms of acting, the scene is pulled by Mona Wales in the role of the senior leading woman, who is the organizer of this orgy, judging by the plot. It seems that this actress understood very well the idea of the author and director Kayden Kross, who herself was a very venerable porn actress in the past. When watching, I listened attentively to Mona Wales’ remarks and watched her play, she very naturally conveyed the image of a domineering dominatrix, and very savvy in terms of psychology and cultural studies. It shows not banal modern feminism, but a direct reference to ancient matriarchal traditions.
At the same time, the actual features of our modernity are also clearly visible from the point of view of the social agenda of Western society, in this case the American one. What do we see?
Everyone is led by a wealthy, highly educated, influential white woman of respectable appearance and age. Apparently, she decided to conduct a kind of ritual of sexual enlightenment and initiation into the awareness of her feminine essence for several young women. Among them we see: one also of European appearance, one Asian, one straight Chinese, one Black woman. That is, almost all the main racial types.
For this purpose, judging by the general plot of the film, the main madam was invited (possibly hired for money) by a gigolo – also a middle-aged white man. He is completely subordinate to the dominatrix, but it is obvious that he does not perform the function of a typical subordinate in a BDSM-type relationship. He looks like a normal man who just clearly understands his role in this ritual and follows it due to circumstances: on such conditions he was invited by Madame, who manages everything here.
This madam directly directs all actions and, in the process, also pronounces phrases for each participant that resemble certain moral and psychological attitudes, as do the leaders of so-called sects and similar various kinds of closed societies. At one point, the phrase “Here you didn’t believe in democracy, and now do you believe?” even flashed to one of the wards, it seems, just a Chinese woman (which is very significant) while a representative of the American-European civilization was impaling her on the dick.
It is logical that in the end Madame dominatrix herself sits on his dick, because she also wants to get her pleasure, not only bodily, but also mental – from the feeling of complete power over everyone, including the man of her own white race, with which she showed the others who is in charge here, and did it through such a powerful animal pleasure, which in this case completely captures everyone and none of the people can resist it. But the man here can’t even finish on his own, but does it also on the instructions and under the full control of the women led by the dominatrix.
That is, everyone was shown their place by showing their true nature by someone who has real power.
In short, I have already presented a brief cultural essay here. I think my impressions and thoughts are clear.
Well, purely from the point of view of a porn lover, in this scene I also liked just everything, the cute actresses gave their all, visually shot beautifully, the idea and high-quality implementation are visible.
And in general, even in other novels of this film, I can note thoughtful and competent work from the point of view of cinematography: light, sound, entourage, camerawork and acting (as far as porn fans are capable of it). I will say this, from the position of the art porn jury, I would not give this work an excellent grade, but it deserves a solid four. And the third scene is definitely included in the “golden collection” separately.
