Die-Screaming ranked Muse Season 1 as the best porn movie of 2020. I haven’t put together the 2021 rankings yet but I will say that Muse Season 2 is a very strong contender to take the top spot this year. This shouldn’t be a surprise, right? The film stars the always-amazing Maitland Ward, is directed by Kayden Kross and features the unmatched production value that Deeper brings to all of their movies.
Let me go back to Kayden Kross for a moment. I already considered her to be the greatest director currently working in Porn before I watched Muse Season 2. After seeing the movie, I was couldn’t help but think about just how far and above Kayden is in terms of her ability to craft XXX masterpieces (and this is a masterpiece, btw) compared to any of her peers. Simply put, Kayden Kross movies hit harder and differently than anything else out there.
Okay…on to the actual review.
Muse Season 2 | What I liked about this movie…
Considering how amazing a piece of adult cinema the first season of Muse proved itself to be, the bar was set really high for the sequel. So when I tell you that Muse Season 2 in every way met or exceeded all of those expectations that I had for it, understand that is probably the highest compliment I can give to this thing. From start to finish, the movie consistently achieved the highest level of excellence in any area that it’s possible to grade a film.
Start with the performance of Maitland Ward. She was incredible. While that’s nothing new, I feel pretty confident in saying that this is the best work to date of her already impressive XXX career. Between her two group-sex scenes and her dramatic performances throughout the film, Maitland is far and away the star of this show and no one else comes close to matching her intensity, on-screen charisma and sexual energy. If Maitland doesn’t win at least one Best Actress award for her showing in this film then we need to riot in the streets.
I also need to mention that Muse Season 2 features a hugely talented cast that absolutely deserves to be recognized. Manuel Ferrara and Ivy Wolfe deliver a scorcher of a scene in what is easily the hottest one-on-one pairing of the film. Established superstars such as Aubrey Kate, Vanna Bardot, Rob Piper, Pierce Paris and Alex Jones also serve up impressive showings. Any of the four hardcore scenes in this film would easily be the best scene of nearly any other adult film released this year and that has a lot to do with the all-star lineup of performers that bring this movie to life.
Kayden Kross and Vixen Media (the parent company of Deeper) don’t skimp on production value. The lighting, sound, video quality and cinematography throughout Muse Season 2 is of the highest quality and better than nearly any other adult film that I’ve seen this year. This is a porn movie that was crafted by a team of professionals who clearly know how to make a film and who deeply care about the quality of their work.
Muse Season 2 | What I didn’t like about this movie…
I mean…nothing. Even the $34 price that I paid to get myself a copy of Muse Season 2, probably the most money I’ve laid out for a single piece of porn this year, didn’t bother me because the quality of the product justified the cost. A Lexis costs more than a Honda because it’s worth it.

The bottom line…
Kayden Kross has once again knocked the ball out of the park. Muse Season 1 was the best adult film last year and she followed that up with a sequel that is every bit as awesome as the original. Maitland Ward gives us arguably the best performance of her XXX career, is supported by an absolutely incredible cast of talent and every aspect of the production value is top shelf.
