2012 Best New Starlet nominee brings her porn career to an end…
Melina Mason has officially announced her retirement from the porn industry. When she made her debut in the business in late 2011, Mason quickly established herself as one of the hottest and hardest working girls in the adult entertainment business. But as quickly as she took the industry by storm – she was nominated by both AVN and XBIZ as Best New Starlet of the Year – she is now bowing out. Melina Mason is calling it a career and moving on to other things.
If you’re going to spend barely a year in porn, you might as well have the year that Melina Mason enjoyed. While she was performing on camera for only a short time, Mason certainly kept busy and used her time efficiently. Over the span of her brief porn career, she has appeared or starred in no less than thirty-five adult movies.
Melina has performed with some of the most popular performers in the industry and has worked with almost every major studio in the business. Some of her biggest films include Hollywood Heartbreakers, Spin! Suck & Fuck Vol. 4, This Ain’t Terminator XXX 3D, and The XXX Adventures of Hawkman and Hawkgirl.
In announcing her retirement from the porn industry, Melina Mason issued the following statement via her publicist…
I had so many great experiences and met some amazing people, but I became overwhelmed. I was shooting up to five times a week, doing interviews and appearances, traveling, going to porn events and my whole life started to revolve around work. I had a hard time separating my porn life from my real life. It gets confusing and honestly I wasn’t prepared for how to deal with it. The attention made me uncomfortable, I never wanted fame. I just thought I could get fucked by professionals and get paid for it. That’s all I was expecting out of this, I didn’t realize how big it was going to get.
I felt pressure from so many directions, I had a hard time staying true to myself. I was on set one day and I realized I didn’t want to be there. I would be doing the industry and myself an injustice just to show up for a paycheck. l pride myself on having no regrets in life so when performing didn’t feel good anymore I knew it was time to exit. Porn has helped me grow as a person and discover myself in ways other jobs cannot. I’m really grateful that I had so much opportunity in the industry, the whole experience was nothing short of fascinating.
So what is Melina Mason going to do now that she’s not a hard working pornstar anymore? Get a 9 to 5 job in an office? Head off to college in pursuit of a degree? Nope. Mason has actually set herself up pretty well. Having saved the money she made since entering the porn industry, she used it to purchase an apartment complex in Northern California and a seafood delivery business in New York. As a result, Melina Mason is now in a position where she is in control of a very steady source of income. And with her financial foundation in good order, Mason now intends to focus on settling down and starting a family.
Ultimately, I want to get married and have a family one day. I am totally content looking after my loved ones and running a household. That’s why the businesses I’m involved in now generate passive income. I want to be a self-made house wife.
