Kagney Linn Karter has died. She was 36 years old and, according to reports, committed suicide. While she hadn’t been very active in the Porn industry recently, the starlet was a hugely popular performer who had been nominated for nearly every major industry award and who had appeared in close to 1,000 adult films throughout her career. News of her passing rocked the XXX industry.
According to multiple sources, Kagney died after taking her own life at her Ohio home. She reportedly died last Thursday (2/15), though news of her death only began to circulate this week after being confirmed by family and friends. Kagney had been working as a fitness instructor at the time of her passing. A GoFundMe has been set up by friends to help cover expenses related to covering her funeral expenses.
These last four weeks have been extremely difficult for the Porn community. Late last month, we learned that the legendary performer Jesse Jane had died as the result of a suspected drug overdose. Then, earlier this month, it was reported that Emily Willis had been hospitalized and was in critical condition after suffering an apparent overdose. And now we have news of Kagney Linn Karter taking her own life.
Who was Kagney Linn Karter?
Kagney Linn Karter was an American adult film star who began her XXX career in 2008. Almost from the start, Kagney’s hardcore career took off like a rocket ship, fueled by her stunning beauty and undeniable acting talents. Fans and critics alike were smitten with her work, resulting in her being nominated for dozens of major awards. AVN and XBIZ nominated her for their prestigious Female Performer of the Year trophies.
A legitimate superstar in every sense of the word, Kagney Linn Karter starred in several best-selling adult films. Kagney was one of the performers I was most intimidated to be booked with my first few years in the biz when I was still naive and trying to prove myself. I assumed an A-list XXX bombshell such as herself would have a bloated ego, but in fact she seemed to me the opposite. Kagney did not seem to give a fuck about most ego-driven elements of existence. She came off to me as incredibly authentic and eccentric with a really bizarre, dry sense of humor, and I loved that about her. It’s sad to know reality wasn’t doing the trick for her but I hope she’s at peace now, wherever that soul goes.

For as talented a pornstar as Kagney Linn Karter was, she was an even better human being. Those who worked with her remembered her as one of the kindest and most caring women that they had ever met and certainly one of the warmest hearts of anyone who made a living in the adult film business. While her demons might have eventually gotten the best of her, Kagney was an absolute angel in life and, undoubtedly, in the afterlife, as well.
