Dark Secrets (2016)
Janelle (Asa Akira) flees in the night from her abusive husband Darren. She relocates a thousand miles away and tries to begin a new life. Nice guy Ben is immediately smitten with the mysterious new barista at his local coffee shop.. After many weeks of trying, Ben convinces Janelle to go out with him and they begin happily dating. Everything finally seems good in Janelle’s life… until Darren discovers where she has been hiding and shows up at her apartment. Luckily Ben also shows up just in time.

In a little less than a month, Jonathan Morgan will be releasing his latest movie. It’s an erotic thriller starring Asa Akira and Michael Vegas titled, “Dark Secrets.” As you can see from the trailer up top, the film deals has an edge to it and centers itself around the subject of domestic violence, but also elements of a traditional romance movie.
The plot also reminds me a whole lot of Safe Haven (a 2013 thriller/love story that my wife made me watch one time), but whatever.
In addition to being one of the most popular porn women on Earth (she’s currently the 5th most searched pornstar on Google), Asa Akira also possesses some of the strongest acting chops in the industry. Michael Vegas, who stars opposite Asa, is also widely considered to have some mad thespian skills and has the 2016 AVN Award Best Actor nomination to prove it.
But wait…there’s more. The rest of the Dark Secrets cast also features a whole bunch of talented folks. Kleio Valentien is one of the top talents in the biz and I’m a fan of pretty much everything she does. Katrina Jade, who performs in a girl/girl scenes with Kleio in the movie, is also a fucking XXX badass and was recently ranked by Die-Screaming as the #3 best new female pornstar of 2015.
But perhaps the best thing that Dark Secrets has going for it is that it’s a Jonathan Morgan directed film. He’s been making smut since before most of us were even legally allowed to watch it. He’s at his best, in my opinion, when crafting lighter fare, but over the years has proven that he can masterfully work with any genre. It’s also worth pointing out that Asa Akira has appeared in several Jonathan Morgan films, with Bijou and Asa Akira: Wicked Fuck Doll being two recent examples.
Dark Secrets is scheduled to be released by Wicked Pictures on April 20th and has a runtime of 2 hours 9 minutes.
