Update (12/14/2014): It is now widely reported that Billy Glide did in fact die of a drug overdose. Initially, it had been rumored that Mr. Glide had died from a rattlesnake bite that he had left go untreated (see below). That seems to have been some sort of smoke screen thrown up by some of his friends (Alana Evans, to be specific) to try and hide the truth about the drug overdose.
Specifically, it is believed that a lethal combination of the drug GHB and alcohol is what resulted in Billy Glide’s death.

Billy Glide (aka Tad Nolen) has passed away at age 43. He died in his sleep and there are wildly differing reports – none of them confirmed at this point – regarding the cause of his death. Initial reports said that Glide had passed away after being bitten by a rattlesnake and then refusing medical treatment. Other sources claim that he actually died from a drug overdose.
Regardless of how it happened, the one fact that is horrifically clear at this point is that Billy Glide is dead.
While the official cause of death has yet to be made public, we do know that Billy Glide died in his sleep at some point on the night of May 24th. A porn industry veteran, Glide had appeared in nearly 700 adult films and was generally very well liked within the industry and was a familiar face for anyone who’s watched porn at any point over the past 19 years.

Details about the time and cause of Glide’s death could not be officially confirmed as of post time. Longtime friend and fellow performer Alana Evans said she was intitially told Glide was bitten by a snake while helping a friend move and chose not to seek medical attention for the bite. But now, she said, other close friends of Glide, whose real name is Tad Nolen, and his family are saying otherwise.

Whenever anything like this happens, there’s always more speculation than answers. At least until the coroner releases the official cause of death. Maybe it was a snakebite. Maybe it was drugs. Or maybe it was just some untimely natural causes. Regardless of why it happened, it’s a damn shame.
