About this year’s Best New Starlet rankings…
This is the third year that I’m doing the Best New Starlet rankings for Die-Screaming and each year it’s always one of the toughest. In order to get to the rankings you see above, I scored forty-two starlets across seven categories and then plugged those scores into a mathematical formula to calculate an overall score for each lady. When all of that was done, the XXX starlets with the ten highest scores were the ones you see here.
The term “new starlet” is fairly nebulous within the porn industry. Who actually qualifies as “new”? Someone who made their XXX debut in the previous twelve months? Or maybe 2016 having to be their first full year in porn? The definition I went with was anyone who qualified for either a 2017 AVN or XBIZ Best New Starlet award category.
While I won’t reveal my exact scoring formula (BECAUSE SECRETS!), I can give you some random and mostly useless statistics. Positions #1 and #10 were separated by 8.8 points. Two performers were less than one full point away from making it into the Top 10 five ladies were less than two points away from making it. Finally, positions 7, 8, 9 and 10 were all separated by less than one point.

As someone who’s done a lot of Top 10 lists over the years, I know for a fact that there is no such thing as a perfect such list. At the end of the day, some/all of you may completely disagree with every single one of my selections above. And I’m okay with that.
