10. Codey Steele
If you didn’t think Codey Steele was one of the ten best male pornstars in the business at the start of 2022, you probably do by now if you were paying attention to smut at all this year. Codey delivered a steady stream of top-notch performances, with above average showings in films such as Husband, Unleashed (Pure Taboo), Pass Around Wives (PurgatoryX) and Not Too Young For Anal 3 (Evil Angel). His efforts were rewarded with a barrage of industry award nominations, including his second consecutive AVN Male Performer of the Year nod.
9. Manuel Ferrara
Manuel Ferrara is probably one of the most elite male pornstars to ever do smut. With close to 25 years in the industry, Manuel is still performing at an all-star calibur level. In 2022, he had showings in some of the baddest XXX bangers of the year, including Fertile Young Things (Deeper), Poetics For Tramps (Deeper) and Goddess And The Seed (Deeper). Manuel capped off the year by earning over a dozen collective AVN and XBIZ nominations, including a pair of Male Performer of the Year nods. And while talking about how awesome Manuel Ferrara is at porn, you’d be foolish not to go subscribe to his Onlyfans because its both free and very spicy.
8. Oliver Flynn
Oliver Flynn put together an absolutely solid 2022 hardcore campaign, further establishing himself as one of the industry’s top male talents. Some of his best stuff was featured in flicks like Anal Models Vol. 10 (Tushy), Anal Freaks 3 (Evil Angel) and Vibes Vol. 7 (Vixen). It’s worth noting that this is the second consecutive year that Oliver Flynn has appeared on Die-Screaming’s Top 10 Best Male Pornstar rankings, just in case you needed any further convincing that this dude is an absolute badass. Should he continue to do the types of things that he did all across 2022, expect to continue to see his name popping up on these lists for many years to come.
7. Zac Wild
I’m well aware of how great Zac Wild has been over the years so it’s no small thing when I say that 2022 might have been the best year of his XXX career so far. The sex stuff that he churned out across the previous twelve months has been a masterclass in hardcore debauchery as he appeared in films from nearly every major US studio. His work in such scorchers as Hardcore Blondes (Hard X), Pretty Little Things (Wicked Pictures) and Anal Loving MILFs 2 (Evil Angel) helped earn him his second AVN Male Performer of the Year nomination.
6. Vince Karter
If you wanted to tell me that Vince Karter is the greatest male performer currently working in Europe’s porn industry, I probably wouldn’t argue against it. The stuff he served up in 2022 left no doubt that, regardless of which side of the Atlantic Ocean you’re looking at, this dude is something special. Some of his more impressive highlights of the year would have to include Mission XXX Impossible (Jacquie et Michel ELITE), Couples In Porn (Private) and Introspection (Evil Angel). Adding an exclamation mark to Vince Karter’s 2022 was him winning the XBIZ Europa Male Performer of the Year trophy at the ceremony that he also co-hosted.
5. Tommy Pistol
In my opinion, Tommy Pistol is the most talented XXX actor in all of Porn. His work in 2022 only helped strengthen my adoration of his talents. Tommy’s performance in Grinders (AdultTime) was probably by itself enough to earn him inclusion on this list, but he delivered a consistent stream of top-tier showings that featured both his hardcore and dramatic acting abilities in films such as Deranged (Wicked) and The Hitman: Love Is Deadly (Sweet Sinner). If Tommy Pistol doesn’t win at least one of the three Best Acting awards that he’s nominated for between XBIZ and AVN then we are going to riot in the streets of Porn Valley.
4. Dante Colle
A reasonable person could make the argument that Dante Colle needs to be considered one of the most dominant performers in all of Porn. Not only is Dante one of the only male performers that’s working in the straight and gay genres concurrently but he’s doing so at a level that’s high enough to make him one of the best of anyone doing it in any of those spaces. Some of his best work of 2022 was featured in One Night In Los Angeles (Dorcel), The Seductress 3 (Sweet Sinner) and Torn (Dorcel). On top of that, the content that Dante has been serving up via his Onlyfans is absolutely something worth as much of your attention as you can spare.
3. Isiah Maxwell
Isiah Maxwell has long been one of the most talented and popular studs in the XXX biz. The content that he starred in all across 2022 only served to remind everyone that Isiah is a one-of-one type superstar. Examples of him being incredible would include flicks such as Maid To Kill (Sparks Entertainment), The Wife Watcher (Adam & Eve) and Interracial Crush 6 (Elegant Angel). You should also be following Isiah on Twitter, too, because his feed there is full of him showing off all of the many sex things that he’s so great at. Let me also say that I’d be willing to put an amount of money that mattered to me down on him winning at least one Male Performer of the Year trophy between the upcoming AVN and XBIZ shows.
2. Seth Gamble
While 2022 may well be remembered as the year that Seth Gamble had a breakout year as an adult film director, his on-camera work throughout the year continues to be on a level that few of his peers can match. Seth delivered stand-up-and-cheer quality showings in flicks like SpideyPool XXX (Wicked Pictures), Hysteria (Wicked Pictures) and Drift (Deeper). His hardcore work was warmly received by critics as evidenced by the damn near 30 AVN and XBIZ award nominations he received and that number doesn’t even include his directorial nods.
1. Mick Blue
Mick Blue is Die-Screaming’s selection as the best male pornstar of 2022. And when you look at the entire body of work that Mick delivered all across the previous 12 months, and he’s done a LOT this year, I don’t think him being taking the top spot this year is any kind of a surprise. With literally hundreds of XXX titles to his credit just in 2022 alone, it would be impossible to list everything that Mick was stellar in, however, a few of his performances that come to minds are Up To And Including Her Limits 2 (Deeper), Uncut 14 (Evil Angel) and Jada Loves Gonzo (Jules Jordan Video). And if that weren’t enough, when he wasn’t making Porn, Mick won a goddamn race car championship?
About this year’s Top 10 rankings…
2022 marks the ninth year that I’ve assembled these Best Male Pornstar rankings for Die-Screaming. That being said, I’ll be the first to admit that trying to rank people against other people is a stupid endeavor. It is. I do it, though, because it’s also a way to shine a spotlight on and celebrate some very talented and deserving performers who rocked the snot out of this year in Porn.
The rankings you see above were not pulled out of my ass. Nope. Rather, I scored a number of male pornstars against 12 separate categories and then tallied up the final scores for everyone using a nifty spreadsheet and formula. The ten dudes you see above were the ones who had the highest scores, ranked in descending order. And while I won’t give you my exact scoring model, I can give you some stats that might add some additional context…
- 46 male pornstars were considered for this year’s Top 10 rankings. Two guys were each less than a point away from making this year’s countdown.
- 60 points separated positions 1 thru 10.
- The smallest difference between any two consecutive positions was between 6 and 7, which had just 0.5 points separating them. The largest gap was between positions 1 and 2, which had a difference of 39.7 points.
- 50% of the men on this year’s Top 10 were also included on last year’s.
