Die-Screaming ranks the ten greatest XXX starlets of the year!
10. Chanel Preston
For nearly a decade, Chanel Preston has been a hardcore institution in the world of smut. In 2017, she delivered several impressive performances that made it impossible for her not to be included in this Top 10. Her role in The Obsession (Sweet Sinner) earned multiple Best Actress award nominations and her performance in The Altar Of Aphrodite (PornFidelity) was widely considered to be one of the hottest scenes of the year.
9. Romi Rain
Romi Rain gave us one of the most memorable performances of 2017 with her role as Wonder Woman in Axel Braun’s very excellent Justice League XXX (Wicked Pictures). She also delivered terrific performances in Queen Of Thrones (Brazzers) and The Riders (Alpha Females). To cap off the year, Ms. Rain also amassed several major industry award nominations, including her fourth consecutive XBIZ Female Performer of the Year nomination. All in all, there were very few women in porn who had a better 2017 than Romi Rain.
8. Elsa Jean
Last year Elsa Jean was ranked by Die-Screaming as the #1 Best New Starlet of 2016. She followed that up with putting together another incredible year in 2017 and established herself as a legitimate XXX superstar. AVN and XBIZ both nominated her for Female Performer of the Year honors, which is well deserved considering how solid of a year she had. While she was terrific in damn near everything she was in this year, her best performances were probably in Prison Sluts (Brazzers) and Nerds (Digital Playground).
7. Lana Rhoades
In 2017, Lana Rhoades had her best year yet in porn. Her showcase film Lana Rhoades Unleashed (Hard X) was one of the most popular and best-selling XXX titles of the year and she delivered some of the hottest hardcore action of 2017 in films such as Anal Savages 3 (Jules Jordan Video) and Lana (Tushy). And in addition to all of that, she won the NightMoves trophy for Best New Starlet over the Summer and was just nominated for Female Performer of the Year by both AVN and XBIZ.
6. Kristen Scott
How good of a year did Kristen Scott have in 2017? Well, she was just ranked as the #1 Best New Starlet of 2017 by Die-Screaming, was nominated for that same award by both AVN and XBIZ and delivered one of the best performances of the year in Half His Age: A Teenage Tragedy (Pure Taboo). She also gave us killer XXX action in films such as Anal Threesomes Vol. 2 (Tushy) and Kristen Scott’s Skip Day (Girlsway). Oh, and she’s made it to #6 on this year’s ranking of the Ten Best Female Pornstars, too.
5. Katrina Jade
Katrina Jade has already had some damn impressive years in porn, so it’s no small thing when I say that 2017 was one of her best. In addition to being showcased in such best selling movies as Sacrosanct (TrenchcoatX), Villain (Adult Empire Films) and I Am Katrina (Evil Angel), Katrina also was selected to be Evil Angel’s first-ever contract star. She also earned herself six Inked Award nominations and is once again nominated by both XBIZ and AVN for Female Performer of the Year.
4. Riley Reid
When all is said and done, Riley Reid may end up being the most important pornstar of her generation. In 2017, Ms. Reid gave to us yet another incredible twelve months of hardcore glory. Her showcase film The Gangbang of Riley Reid (Jules Jordan Video) was one of the hottest-selling XXX titles of the year and she performed some of her best work in films such as Threesome Fantasies Vol. 1 (Vixen) and The Submission of Emma Marx: Evolved (New Sensations).
3. Adriana Chechik
Adriana Chechik was ranked as the #1 Female Pornstar of 2016 by Die-Screaming and the reigning AVN Female Performer of the Year. She followed all of that up in 2017 by once again proving herself to be one of the hardest of hardcore performers in all of porn, with jaw-dropping performances in films such as Big Messy Gangbang (Anatomik Media), Adriana Chechik Is The Squirt Queen (Evil Angel) and Gape Queens (Evil Angel). She also won the Best Female Performer and Best Feature Dancer at this year’s NightMoves Awards and is nominated for a collective eight AVN and XBIZ awards.
2. Abella Danger
If you wanted to make the argument that Abella Danger is the most all-around talented woman currently working in porn, I would have a tough time proving you wrong, especially after her showing this year. Ms. Danger delivered one of the strongest performances of her career in The Obsession (Sweet Sinner) and some of the best hardcore scenes of the year in movies such as Psychotic Behavior (Evil Angel) and Anal Destruction (Analized). Don’t be at all surprised if she walks away with at least one Female Performer of the Year trophies a few weeks from now.
1. Angela White
Angela White is Die-Screaming’s selection for Best Female Performer of 2017. While she’s certainly been a force within the porn industry for several years, Ms. White was absolutely dominant over the previous twelve months. She set herself apart with outstanding performances in movies such as The Altar of Aphrodite (PornFidelity), Angela Vol. 3 (AGW Entertainment) and Angela White Is Titwoman (Elegant Angel). Her year was capped off by earning eleven AVN and five XBIZ nominations, including Best Actress and Female Performer of the Year honors.
About this year’s 10 Best Female Pornstar rankings…
This is the fourth year that I’ve put together this Top 10 Best Female Pornstar list for Die-Screaming. The rankings that you see here weren’t just pulled out of my ass. Nope. In order to come up with the list you see here, I scored seventy-five XXX starlets across nine categories and the ladies that ended up with the ten highest scores are the ones you see here.
I’m never gonna share my super-secret scoring system (BECAUSE SATAN COMMANDS IT!), but I can throw some kind-of interesting statistics with you…
- First and tenth places were separated by 10.5 points, while positions seven and ten had only a single point between them.
- Three performers missed making this year’s Top 10 by less than half a point.
- 50% of the ladies featured in this year’s rankings also made the Top 10 in 2016.

I’ve said it every year that I’ve done these rankings and I’ll say it again now; There isn’t any such thing as a “perfect” Top 10 list. No matter what kind of scoring system is put together, very worthy candidates are going to be left out and trying to rank people against people is in many ways very stupid. But all of that being said…I stand by this Top 10.
