10. Manuel Ferrara
How awesome of a year did Manuel Ferrara have in 2019? Well, he’s the only person on this list who was nominated for both the AVN Male Performer of the Year and Director of the Year awards. His on-screen work over the past twelve months has included performing in some of the year’s most fire scenes in best-selling films such as Raw 37 (Jules Jordan Video), Black Anal Asses 4 (HardX), and I Am Riley (Evil Angel). An argument could also be made that Mr. Ferrara is perhaps the number one XXX stud of the past twenty years but that’ll be another post.
9. Xander Corvus
Xander Corvus has long been one of the most talented people in the porn business and 2019 was further evidence of his greatness. Some of his best work of the year was in a trio of Digital Playground releases; Killer Wives, The Silent Caller, and Greedy Bitches. Critics were also hugely impressed with his work and Mr. Corvus has the three XBIZ Best Actor award nominations (along with Male Performer of the Year from both XBIZ and AVN) to prove it. The day that Xander Corvus stops making smut movies will be one of the worst days in human history.
8. Isiah Maxwell
If you were at all paying attention to porn in 2019, it was impossible to miss the excellent work being churned out by Isiah Maxwell. I’m not the only one who was impressed. AVN, NightMoves, XBIZ, and Inked Magazine all nominated him for Male Performer of the Year. Some of the highlights of Isiah’s 2019 would include his showings in films such as The Gold Star (Pure Taboo), Black & Ginger 2 (DarkX), and Social Experiment (PornFidelity).
7. Charles Dera
Charles Dera was not fucking around in 2019. In addition to the work that he did for nearly every major US studio throughout the year, Charles also launched his Tough Love X studio. That venture resulted in a slick premium website and four DVD releases with all the scenes being directed by Mr. Dera himself. Some of his best work was in such films as Father Karl (Tough Love X), Bad Samaritan (Pure Taboo), and Groupie’s Fan Fucking (Spizoo). Don’t be surprised to see this guy walk away with either the AVN or XBIZ 2020 Male Performer of the Year trophy.
6. Ramon Nomar
Always one of the industry’s most prolific studs, 2019 proved to be another solid year for Ramon Nomar. His accomplishments include winning the NightMoves Editor’s Choice Award for Male Performer of the Year and being nominated for an impressive eight 2020 AVN awards. All of that acclaim was a result of his performances in films such as Emily Willis: The Anal Awakening (Evil Angel), Anal Cuties Vol. 11 (HardX), and Axel Braun’s Short Hair Don’t Care 2 (Wicked Pictures).
5. Tommy Pistol
Tommy Pistol kicks off the Top 5 of the 2019 Best Male Pornstar rankings. I’ve long said that I think Mr. Pistol is perhaps the single most talented dude currently working in porn and certainly one of the industry’s most entertaining performers. All of that was on full display over the previous twelve months, especially in his showings in movies such as Pistol Whipped (Evil Angel), Anal ManiACTS (Evil Angel), and Love Emergency (Adam & Eve). It’s also worth mentioning that Tommy was nominated for five 2019 AVN Most Outrageous Sex Scene awards and that’s just bananas.
4. Markus Dupree
Over the past several years, Markus Dupree has established himself as an absolute force within the porn industry and one of it’s most popular male talents (he was ranked #1 on this countdown last year). In 2019, Mr. Dupree performed in over two-hundred XXX scenes and was a prominent fixture in several of the best hardcore releases of the year. Some of his most impressive work was in films such as Angela White: Dark Side (Jules Jordan Video), Relentless (Deeper), and Fucking Markus (Evil Angel). There really isn’t anyone currently working in smut who’s operating at a higher level than Markus Dupree.
3. Seth Gamble
All Seth Gamble did in 2019 was to deliver one solid performance after another, especially in his feature film roles. His dramatic acting talents combined with his hardcore superpowers allow him to routinely stand out and give him a range that very few of his peers can match. He was legitimately awesome in Perspective (Adult Time), Future Darkly: Eyes In The Sky (Pure Taboo), and of course as Deadpool in Captain Marvel XXX: An Axel Braun Parody (Wicked Pictures). Do not be shocked if Seth Gamble ends up winning both the AVN and XBIZ Male Performer of the Year trophies because his 2019 was that epic.
2. Mick Blue
It seemed almost impossible to put on any decent porn flick in 2019 and not see Mick Blue make an appearance. For years, Mick has been widely considered as one of the industry’s most reliable and talented studs and this past year just added to that well-earned reputation. Across 2019, he performed in more hardcore scenes than almost anyone (including several that he directed for his BAM Visions studio) and was nominated for an incredible thirteen 2020 AVN awards. Some of his must-see work includes such bangers as Angela White: Dark Side (Jules Jordan Video), A Night of Reckoning (Digital Playground), and Relentless (Deeper).
1. Small Hands
Small Hands is Die-Screaming’s #1 Best Male Pornstar of 2019. From open to close, there wasn’t anyone who delivered more outstanding performances than this guy. His feature work was especially incredible as Small Hands routinely killed it in roles that demanded acting and fucking abilities that few people on Earth would be able to muster. My favorite work of his in the previous twelve months was in Love Song (Wicked Pictures), 3 Cheers For Satan (BurningAngel Entertainment), and Insomniac (BurningAngel Entertainment).
About this Top 10 list…
This is the sixth consecutive year that I’ve assembled these Best Male Pornstar rankings for Die-Screaming. It’s always extremely challenging because each year there are way more than ten people who deserve to be on this list but it’s just impossible to fit them all. 2019 was no different.
How were these rankings assembled? Math. Forty-four male pornstars were scored across eleven categories and the ten performers with the highest total scores were the ones you see here. I won’t give away my exact scoring model (BECAUSE SECRETS!) but I can give you a bit of mathematical insight…
- 90% of the men who appeared on last year’s rankings were also in 2019’s Top 10, though the order is significantly different.
- The smallest gap between any two consecutive positions was #4 and #5, which were separated by seven-tenths of a point. The largest spread was between #9 and #10 and they had 3.1 points between them.
- 13.3 points separated positions #1 and #10. The dropoff between the Top 10 and the rest of the positions was pretty steep, with position #15 more than 10 points away from making the Top 10.

I say it every year and I’ll say it again; No Top 10 list is perfect and neither is this one. Ranking people against other people is an incredibly inexact science and also probably pretty stupid. But I do stupid shit all the time (I am a porn blogger, after all) and I think that the rankings that you see here are about as solid as you can get.
