Not The Wizard of Oz XXX will be a thing in 2013. It’s been announced that director Will Ryder and X-Play Studios will begin shooting the Wizard of Oz porn parody early in 2013 and that it will be released later that year. And while we don’t have a whole lot more detail than that, Ryder has also announced that Maddy O’Reilly will be the star of the film, playing the part of Dorothy. For both Will Ryder and Maddy O’Reilly, Wizard of Oz XXX has the potential to be a very big deal.
Will Ryder, who’ll also be releasing Not South Park XXX next month, has made it clear as to what Wizard of Oz XXX means to him. He’s gone on record as saying that this will be “the biggest movie” he’s ever worked on. Ryder has made a name for himself as one of the porn industry’s premier porn parody masterminds. Some of his previous work includes Not the Bradys XXX, Not Married with Children XXX, and The Flintstones XXX. Between Wizard of Oz XXX and Not South Park XXX, 2013 is already set to be a very big year for Will Ryder.
Maddy O’Reilly is coming off an impressive 2012. She’s been nominated for the 2013 AVN Award for Best New Starlet. XBIZ has also nominated her for the Best New Starlet Award. Additionally, her performance in Bombshells 4 is widely admired as one of the very best scenes to come out of 2013. And on the social media front, Maddy O’Reilly has earned a Twitter following of over 36,000 fans at the time of this writing. My gut instinct is that this girl will be a superstar and this is the role that will make her career. Some girls have the ‘X’ factor and Maddy stands uniquely qualified for the lead role of Dorothy in what could be porn’s greatest movie ever. I love this girl. If this project lives up to all the hype – “porn’s greatest movie ever” – that Will Ryder has been heaping onto it, it’s possible that 2013 will be the year that Maddy O’Reilly emerges as one of the elite talents in porn.
No official release date has been given for Not The Wizard of Oz XXX, but Will Ryder has said it will coincide with the release of Oz: The Great and Powerful. That movie – the mainstream Hollywood film starring James Franco – is scheduled to hit theaters on March 8, 2013. Expect the Wizard of Oz porn parody to come out around that same time. While doing some research for some updates on this story, I came across a post appearing over at Sitcums.com that had some interesting details about the Wizard of Oz porn parody. While the article isn’t dated and doesn’t contain any links to source material used for quotes, it does paint a picture of Will Ryder’s big budget X-Play Wizard of Oz XXX project being put into jeopardy. Apparently, a low-budget porn studio is rushing to put a Wizard of Oz porn parody of their own out before Ryder, which would hurt his ability to market his big budget film to distribution partners and retailers

X-Play’s planned 3D mega parody production of The Wizard of Oz is in jeopardy due to another company’s quick plans to put out a cheap version of the classic 1939 MGM movie and beat X-Plays release date.
“I guess there is no honor among pseudo thieves”, remarked director Will Ryder who has spent months in preproduction working with co-producer Scott David on everything from costumes, set design and music.
The planned $200,000 3D production would be the biggest movie that X-Play has ever undertaken prompting Ryder to lament the potential loss of cash already spent and the loss of what would have become an iconic classic adult movie the likes of which has rarely if ever before been seen.
Another producer who requested to remain anonymous stated, Yeah these guys will most likely use shitty Halloween type costumes so it will just make X-Plays production look so much better.
However, Ryder who announced his Oz plans last year knows how hard it is to sell movies these days and concedes it will be difficult to sell once an inferior production is released. When adult movie distributors and stores purchase this lesser cheap version it limits the chances of X-Play to sell their incredible version so the entire production is now in jeopardy.
If true, this would really suck. X-Play clearly has been working on its Wizard of Oz porn parody for quite a while and have already sunk a shit ton of money into the project, so the idea of a low-budget, copycat film derailing the whole thing is frustrating. That being said, it’s also hard to blame an enterprising studio for wanting to make some quick cash on a Wizard of Oz slop job. It’s certainly not “honorable”, but business is business and we’re talking about the porn business, here.
As more information becomes available of the Will Ryder and X-Play Wizard of Oz porn parody – or on the cheap rip-off version from some other studio – I’ll be sure to keep everyone updated.
Update: 20 February 2013 | Brandy Aniston cast as the Wicked Witch…
It sounds like Not Wizard of Oz XXX is still on track to be released within the next few weeks. I just received a press release that announced Brandy Aniston will be playing the role of The Wicked Witch. According to the details that accompanied it, Will Ryder is still talking about having the Wizard of Oz porn parody be released about the same time as Oz: The Great and Powerful. That would have the porn parody being released sometime in March.

Will Ryder – the director behind Not The Wizard of Oz XXX – has revealed that his upcoming porn parody will feature all original songs. More than that, the music was written by Ryder and sung by the members of the Wizard of Oz XXX cast. While probably not a major selling point for a porn film, this goes to show the level of detail that Will Ryder and the cast and crew have put into making this movie. All of which go to make Not The Wizard of Oz XXX more than just a porn film.
When it comes to music, Will Ryder certainly knows his way around. While most know him as a hugely successful porn director who’s built a cult following by producing parodies based on popular television shows, few are aware that Will Ryder also has fifteen years of experience in the music industry. Armed with this experience, Ryder knew that for Not The Wizard of Oz XXX, he wanted to make the soundtrack something special. In an article appearing over at XBIZ, he explained it like this…
I knew if we were going to finally make this epic ‘Oz’ movie, the music would have to be unlike anything ever presented in the history of the porn business. The process was exactly the same as a mainstream Hollywood project. I wrote and arranged the music and lyrics at my piano at home and then went into the recording studio with Rock Hardson to record the parts.
We co-produced all of the tracks together and played most of the instruments ourselves. Rock handled the drums, bass guitar and guitar parts and I played all of the piano and synthesizer parts and later we brought in a couple of union musicians to play some string and horn parts to give it a majestic feel.
We cast this movie with singers in mind.… naked singers but singers nonetheless. If you did not sing well you had next to zero chance of getting cast.
