ArchAngel cuts Remy LaCroix loose halfway through her contract
“Irreconcilable differences”. This is what both Remy LaCroix and ArchAngel Productions is saying led to their recently announced breakup. The studio recently agreed to let Ms. LaCroix out of her exclusive performance contract, despite her only being 3 months in to the 6 month deal.
And from the way it sounds, there ain’t no love lost between either party. And that’s not gossip (I leave that to those other “porn” blogs). Just read the press releases that ArchAngel and Remy LaCroix released. This is what studio owner Gabe Guzman had to say, in a press release titled “ArchAngel Drops Contract Star Remy LaCroix“…
We’re parting ways with Remy, but there’s no bad feelings. Despite the fact we have irreconcilable differences, we appreciate the time Remy spent with us. It’s unfortunate, but we feel it’s better to part ways and not waste anyone’s time. At ArchAngel, we’re a team that works well together and everyone is equal. Remy didn’t fit that mold, so we’re walking away.
While that statement started off with the PR friendly, “no hard feelings”, notice how it essentially ended with, “Remy LaCroix isn’t a team player and thinks she’s better than everyone.”
In the same press release, Tori Black – who was set to helm the next Remy LaCroix move for the studio, titled Remy’s Angels – added this quote…
As a former performer, I have to say I understand the decision. Any girl willing to put her company in a bad light deserves a release from her contract. Thank you to the fans that love and support us. ArchAngel is a family.
And on top of all that, this what MimeFreak (Archangel director and General Manager) had to say…
ArchAngel is still a young company and my focus is to continue to grow our brand the best way possible. Going forward, we will have another signing that we’ll be announcing soon.
So that’s obviously ArchAngel’s side of things. As with any breakup, there are two sides to every story. After ArchAngel Productions sent out its press release, Remy LaCroix sent out her own. This is what she had to say about why she’s leaving ArchAngel in her own press release, titled “Free at last! Remy LaCroix booking new scenes!“…
I’m grateful to be on my own again. While I’m saddened about the way they chose to end things, my freedom more than makes up for the drama. I’m excited to be working with award-winning directors once more, people with their own unique creative vision who know that the best way to get a great scene out of a girl is to treat her with respect and make her comfortable instead of trying to talk down to or threaten her.
It’s been a difficult time for me and I learned some valuable lessons. I will never go through anything like that again.
They like to talk about ArchAngel being like a family, but unfortunately I felt like I was the unwanted step sister. Sometimes a divorce is best for everyone in the family. I’m ready to work again and to feel challenged and express myself.
Regardless of whatever actually happened to make this business relationship go so bad, so fast, it does seem clear that everyone involved is happy that Remy LaCroix is no longer an ArchAngel contract girl. Based on what both parties have said, we should expect ArchAngel to find a new contract starlet and for Remy LaCroix to immediately start working with other studios.
