Update: Raven Alexis Faked Having Brain Cancer?
Back in July, Raven Alexis announced via Twitter that she would be taken a break from porn due to illness. She later revealed the illness she was referring to was cancer. A few days ago, Raven appeared on the Howard Stern Show and dropped a bombshell; The cancer that she was fighting was Stage 4 brain cancer.
While every type of cancer is serious, the fact that she was battling such an aggressive and advanced form of cancer was something of a gut shot to both her legion of fans and the adult industry in general. This announcement puts a lot of things in perspective, including her decision to step away from making movies. Obviously, Raven Alexis’s main priority now is fighting, and ultimately winning, her battle with this cancer.
For those that aren’t familiar with Raven Alexis, allow me to provide a brief introduction. Perhaps the word that best describes her is, “overachiever”. Raven graduated high school at age 15 and by age 18 she had already earned a degree in Criminal Justice Administration. Not stopping there, at age 19, Raven Alexis launched her own website, in which she would post nude photos and videos of herself, earning herself a huge and loyal fan following.
In 2009, Raven Alexis entered the world of porn on a full-time basis, signing an exclusive deal with Digital Playground. Since then, she has taken the adult industry by storm. In less than three years of active porn work, Raven has been nominated for several major awards, including the 2010 AVN Best New Web Starlet, the 2011 AVN Best New Starlet, and the 2011 AVN Best Three-Way Sex Scene.
