Die-Screaming interviews pornstar Tony D. You’re welcome.
Tony D. (@) has been performing in hardcore porn films since 2013. Almost all of his work, thus far, has been for Manipulative Media and Forbidden Fruits Films. As a result, when it comes to the hugely popular “family roleplay” genre of smut, there are very few male performers in the business with more experience than Tony D.
All of that being said, it’s probably safe to say that many/most of you are unfamiliar with Mr. D. or his work. And, truth be told, neither was I. However, I recently had the opportunity to ask Tony a few questions to help all of us get to know him better.
Behold! THE DIE-SCREAMING INTERVIEW OF TONY D! Or is it the Tony D. interview with Die-Screaming? I dunno, I’m not very good at this porn blogging stuff.
Die-Screaming: For those that might not be familiar, could you give us a little bit of an introduction to yourself, sir?
Tony D: I am a 45 year old male talent that started in the adult movie business at 43. I thought this would last no longer than year. Almost three years later and it is still going strong. I’m 6’2, 200 lbs with a very athletic build, dirty blonde salt and pepper hair, and blue eyes. Rugged handsomeness, originally from Georgia, but grew up in Ft. Lauderdale.
How did you get your start as a pornstar?
The “pornstar” label still sounds foreign to me. I would relate more to adult film actor.
I started working as a camera man for Forbidden Fruit Films. One day, I was asked if I thought I could get in front of the camera and do what other male talent did and my reply was, “Only one way to find out.” I shot a series of vignettes for Manipulative Media/Levi Cash. After shooting the first scene, I was told I had a natural ability to deliver scenes and a commanding presence on set/film.
There’s waves of new girls getting into porn every month, but we don’t see very many new male performers all that often. In your experience, how difficult is it for guys to begin a career in straight porn?
Guys have it hard because it is difficult for a serious company to give them a chance. There is much to prove for a male talent: Can he keep an erection and keep it “up” with other people in the room while acting out the scene? Can he pop on demand?
Also, it is difficult for male talent to find an agent. I feel that I was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time. But, it still took me two years to finally find an agent, HUSSIE MODELS aka Riley Reynolds. He approached me shortly after the release of Hot Girls Wanted on Netflix.
We discussed how I wanted to move forward in my career and we both decided Hussie Models would be a good fit for me. I have been doing well since making that decision. This is the only industry where guys get paid less and soon find out this job is not easy.
So many guys out there think that being a male pornstar must be an absolute dream job, where you just show up, have sex with all kinds of hot women, get paid, then call it day. To put things in perspective, how hard is it to do what you do day in and day out?
This job is very difficult, I have guys ask me all the time to help get them in porn and I reply with: Get a girl and fuck her in the middle of traffic, if you can stay there until you pop, then come see me again. Seriously, that is what it can be like. Stop and start, lean out for pictures while staying hard, reshooting, people around you, peering and talking about something else, this is all a daunting challenge. Let’s not forget pop on command!
Almost all of your work so far has been for Manipulative Media. What makes that studio such a good fit for you?
Levi Cash and I are forever linked because we basically helped each other move forward in the porn industry. His style of shooting and the plot of the scenes fit well for my age. These movies enabled him to make a name as a director while showcasing my talents as an actor, not just the sex.
He welcomed my ideas and incorporated my personality and style into the scenes. The results speak for themselves. We delivered quality scenes. I also learned that I love to act and am good at it. Manipulative Media allows me to express who I am.
What’s some advice you would give to a dude in terms of being better at sex?
First, do not try to be a porn star. The sex in the movie is not how real life sex happens. The talents are playing out a fantasy and are in positions to show the sex, but no one has sex like that in real life. Guys should listen to their partners, find out what they like or not like and use porn as a guideline to try new things. Setting the bar too high may send you down the road to failure.
Second, pay attention! Look for the subtle signs that you are doing it right, a moan or a slight squirm lets you know you are on the right track.
Last, don’t be a selfish lover! Please your partner and that will be returned ten fold.
Any new movies or projects that you’re currently working on that we should know about?
I am starting to dabble in directing some of my own scenes. Still shooting for companies like Manipulative Media, Naughty America, MoFos and have recently had a great run shooting for Team Skeet. They started FamilyStrokes.com with a scene we shot and it is entertaining to say the least.
With 2015 almost finished, what should we be looking for from Tony D. in 2016?
Well, I hope to get some personal noms for the AVN’s this year. I have a very positive feeling that 2016 has a lot in store for my career in the adult industry. I hope to establish a name for myself in this diverse and fast moving industry. My goals are set and I am off to make them a reality.
