Veteran male performer passes away in his sleep…
Kris Slater has passed away at the age of 39. According to reports, the long-time XXX performer died in his sleep on April 20th. Kris worked for years in the adult film industry until retiring in 2016. Over the span of fourteen years in the business, he performed in nearly 900 hardcore films. No cause of death has yet been reported.
Nominated for multiple AVN and XBIZ awards, Kris Slater performed in some of the best-selling porn films ever made, including Pirate (Digital Playground), Star Wars XXX: A Porn Parody (Vivid) and The New Devil in Miss Jones (Vivid). While still performing, Kris ranked as one of the most talented dudes in smut and was able to combine hardcore talents along with a strong acting ability.
Before starting his porn career, Kris Slater was a decorated US Army veteran. While serving, Kris survived a helicopter crash and was honorably discharged. After leaving the Army, he found his way into porn, making his debut back in 2002. For the better part of two decades, Slater developed a reputation as a solid, well-liked performer and was something of a go-to talent for some of the industry’s biggest studios and directors.
In talking to XBIZ about the news of Kris Slater’s passing, acclaimed director Will Ryder had this to say…
“Kris had a wonderful sense of humor, was a really good, handsome actor and was a fantastic woodsman. We had him in many of our movies over the years and this is sad for his friends and family.”
News of Kris Slater’s death comes less than a month after we learned of the suicide of Tegan Toxik, another US military veteran. As mentioned by his friend Jack Lawrence in his tweet above, Kris leaves behind a wife and four kids.
The Porn industry and the world in general will now be a little darker without Kris Slater. He’s going to be missed a whole bunch by a great many people.
