XXX superstar Jesse Jane is breaking up with DP…
Jesse Jane has spent her entire career with Digital Playground. However, that’s about to change. In a recent interview, she says that she won’t be renewing her exclusive performance contract with Digital Playground and will instead strike it out as a free agent. Or maybe retire from porn all together. So the Jesse Jane era at Digital Playground is about to be over.
In an article appearing over on CNBC, the news broke that Jesse Jane was leaving Digital Playground…
[Stoya’s] former colleague Jesse Jane is still under contract with Digital Playground but does not plan to renew her contract this year, saying she will either retire or go to another studio. If she does remain in the business, she added, she will represent herself.
“I’ve got an established name, and I’ve been doing this a long time,” said Jane, who is also a co-owner of Diosa Tequila, which has been expanding into markets around the country. “I know the studios. And I know how this industry works. I was trained about marketing by one of the best, Adella [Curry]. And, luckily, I’m a businesswoman already.”
To be clear, while Jesse Jane has announced that she will be leaving Digital Playground, she is still under contract with the company. However, it’s not clear if she’ll actually be shooting any more films for the studio before her commitment to DP ends. It’s also not entirely clear why Jesse Jane has decided to leave the studio that she’s been with for over a decade.
Jesse Jane began her career in porn with Digital Playground in 2003. Unlike most pornstars, she started off as a “contract girl”, a status usually reserved for established, commercially successful talent. Over the span of her time with Digital Playground, Jesse Jane had a starring role in some of the biggest porn films of the past decade, including Pirates, Pirates 2, Top Guns, Babysitters, Nurses, Body Heat, and Code of Honor. Her latest film, Lollipop, was released by Digital Playground in December 2013.
Without question, Jesse Jane ranks as one of the most successful pornstars of all time. In addition to the huge amount of commercial success that she’s had while with Digital Playground, she has also become one of the most popular starlets in the adult entertainment industry. As of this writing, she has over 2.5 Million followers on Facebook.
With the departure of Jesse Jane, Digital Playground finds itself without the stable of adult superstars that the studio once prided itself on. Kayden Kross, Riley Steele, and Stoya have also ended their relationship with Digital Playground. Kayden Kross has been keeping a low profile since becoming pregnant, Stoya has plans to focus more on directing than performing, and Riley Steele just signed a two year contract with Axel Braun Productions. All of the sudden, Digital Playground (which is owned by Manwin) seems to have lost it’s luster and it’s standing as the premier adult film studio.
As more news becomes available regarding Jesse Jane and what she’ll be doing next, I’ll be sure to pass it along.
