10. Rena Fukiishi
A JAV veteran, Rena Fukiishi has managed to put together a solid 2017, appearing in some of the year’s hottest Japanese porn titles. A “MILF” by American porn standards (she’s 37 years old as of this writing), Rena still managed to beat out a whole bunch of JAV Idols who were nearly half her age.

Sora Shiina might be the youngest looking hardcore starlet that has ever appeared on Die-Screaming. This 22 year old lady has been doing the JAV Idol thing since 2015 and has wasted no time in rocketing up into the ranks of “superstar” status. 2017 might have been her best year yet, but with the trajectory she’s on, 2018 could be even bigger for Sora.
7. Kaho Shibuya
A former Japanese baseball reporter, Kaho Shibuya started doing hardcore smut in 2014. She entered 2017 on fire, as one of the most popular JAV Idols currently working in the dirty movie business. As the year went on, her popularity might have cooled a wee bit, but make no mistake; Kaho Shibuya was one of the most dominant JAV performers of this year.
6. Nao Wakana
Nao Wakana didn’t start 2017 as arguably the hottest JAV Idol of the year but she is doing her damndest to end it that way. Her popularity really didn’t take off until the back half of 2017, otherwise she’d be much higher on this list. That being said, Nao is on pace to be an absolute force of nature within the Japanese porn industry in 2018.
5. Asahi Mizuno
Asahi Mizuno is one of the hottest goddamn Japanese pornstars of the past few years and 2017 is arguably her best yet. If you picked any week of this year at random and looked at the ten best-selling JAV Idol films for that week, you would probably see at least one featuring Asahi Mizuno. Go ahead and try it. I’ll wait.
4. Ayumi Shinoda
Ayumi Shinoda retired from the JAV Idol life a few months ago but that has done nothing to make her any less popular. She came into 2017 as one of the hottest XXX starlets the Japanese porn industry had to offer and appeared in some of the year’s best selling hardcore videos. Gone from the business now, she certainly went out on top.
3. Julia
Julia is probably the greatest JAV Idol of all time. She’s been one of Japan’s hottest XXX starlets for years and is one of the few women featured on this list who is also relatively well-known in the United States. In 2017, Julia put together another dominant year and was one of the most Googled and best-selling hardcore starlets in all of Japan.
2. Hitomi
Hitomi has been making the Japanese porn industry her bitch for the past few years and 2017 was another terrific year for her. In fact, I’ve heard and read many people say that this lady (and her 32JJ sized tits) should be considered the best hardcore performer in Japan. It’s hard to argue against that and if it weren’t for the year that Yui Hatano has put together, Hitomi would easily be #1.

Yui Hatano is Die-Screaming’s #1 Best JAV Idol of 2017. She put together one of the most successful years of anyone currently working in porn anywhere in the world and there ain’t nobody in all of Asia that’s selling more hardcore movies right now than this young lady.

Japanese pornstars are known as JAV (Japanese Adult Video) Idols. Unlike US and European pornstars who are usually treated as taboo by the mainstream media, JAV Idols are widely celebrated in Japanese culture. It’s not uncommon for these ladies to have lucrative singing and acting careers outside of porn. In fact, many JAV Idols get into smut because it can prove to be a gateway to mainstream celebrity in Japan.
