The Candidate is probably the most anticipated porn movie of 2017 so far. Yes, we’re only sixteen days into the year at this point, but whatever. I’ve been hearing a whole lot of buzz about this movie for awhile and now that we have the trailer, my initial impression is that it might actually live up to that hype.
This movie has lots of very good things going for it. For starters, it’s a lesbian film that stars Brandi Love, Julia Ann and Penny Pax. Anytime you get all three of those ladies performing in the same porn film…you should watch that movie. Because it will probably be really good and stuff.
Add in the fact that The Candidate features some of the top acting talent from across the XXX business. And while I certainly understand that most of you probably don’t give a shit about the quality (or lack thereof) of thespian skills in your smut, a movie like this (one with a plot and dialogue) is gonna be a lot better when it’s cast with people who are good at acting.
You should also know that Kira Noir was ranked by Die-Screaming (a.k.a. “me”) as the #9 best new starlet of 2016 and that Julia Ann was the #2 MILF. Just sayin’.
Finally, this thing is directed by Dana Vespoli. As one of the most talented and creative forces in the dirty movie business, seeing her name listed as the director should have all of you giddy with excitement. You may recall that Ms. Vespoli’s Lefty was ranked as Die-Screaming as the #10 best porn movie of 2016.

I am REALLY EXCITED about the upcoming release of ‘The Candidate’! This project pushed me way outside of my comfort zone, forced me to set aside my personal political belief system and genuinely consider the alternative. It was challenging and exhilarating!
From what I’ve seen of the edits, it’s as engaging as it is steamy! I don’t want to be a spoiler so lets just say that The Candidate is an erotically charged political thriller pulled from current events, and you will get a little peek at that with the trailer release. I hope fans enjoy this preview of ‘The Candidate’—it’s just a glimpse at the passion and intense performances in the film from the entire cast and myself.
You can tell that Ms. Love is genuinely excited about the movie because she says “REALLY EXCITED” is all caps. You can’t fake that kind of enthusiasm.
The Candidate is set to be released on January 25th from Sweetheart Video.
