8 Questions with Brett Rossi

Brett Rossi answers a bunch of questions for Die-Screaming…

I recently had the chance to interview porn superstar Brett Rossi.  A veteran of the porn industry since 2010, Ms. Rossi has received numerous major award nominations, including multiple Best Girl/Girl scene noms from AVN and Girl/Girl Performer of the Year and Crossover Star of the Year from XBIZ.  She’s kind of a big deal.

Brett Rossi | The Die-Screaming interview…

Die-Screaming: You’ve achieved a huge amount of success as an adult performer, being named a Playboy Playmate, Penthouse Pet, Miss Howard Stern, a Twistys Treat and a studio contract starlet.  What has been your recipe for success in order to accomplish that level of success?

Brett Rossi: Honestly, everything all happened by luck, in the beginning. I always knew I wanted to be a glamour model, since I had been a little girl doing runway. I just wasn’t always sure about how deep into it I wanted to go. I admired the glamour girls of porn (back when they still existed), and I just knew I wanted to be able to show off my sexual side. I knew commercial modeling wasn’t for me. I wanted to still have that classiness and allure that those girls had, but I wanted to be sexy, too. After I gained a little bit of success, I started focusing on my “brand” and just made smart moves. I always chose the routes that would give my career longevity vs. immediate exposure and a quick burn out.

Most girls now days are all about how many scenes they can shoot in one month, who can be the most hardcore, and who can become the most over exposed the quickest. Not me. My entire career my motto has been, “slow and steady wins the race”.

What’s the coolest thing about being a porn star?  The toughest part?

The coolest thing is honestly controlling my own schedule, being my own boss, and having the means to just take off a month and go somewhere without having to ask for time off. The toughest part is by far the mean trolls who find enjoyment in making you feel your worth is less than you are.

When you retired from porn in 2013, you worked as a mainstream model and earned your nursing degree.  What brought you back to porn?

I came back to porn because I kind of felt like I had something to prove to not only everyone else, but myself. I wanted to show the world that a runway model can do both, and I did.

I also felt like that chapter (my porn career) of my life was still unfinished. I had left the business so abruptly after my contract with Twistys expired, I wanted to come back and finish what I started. I felt I owed it to my brand.

A Google search of “Brett Rossi” brings back a bunch of results that begin with, “Charlie Sheen’s ex…”. Does having that phrase so repeatedly attached to your name frustrate you, or is it something that you just don’t think about?

I think anyone who would be constantly stuck to their ex-fiancé would get a little frustrated. It depends, some days are easier than others. After all, it was someone I was about to marry. I think terminating any relationship that has intentions of accomplishing goals and dreams together will always be a sore spot to some people especially when it’s still brought up on a regular basis.

I’m in a very healthy relationship now and have been for over a year. He definitely has helped me cope and deal with that a little bit better than I did before. I had the courage to start dating again, even though the wound was still very fresh.

With the relaunch of you membership site, BrettRossi.com, you’ve taken creative control over every aspect of it, from video production to back end operations. Any plans on building upon that and maybe getting into writing/directing films?

I actually just directed my first film for Deviant/Metro Movies last month. I tend to curve my career more toward that direction for sure.

Of all the things that you’ve already accomplished in your career, what’s the one that you’re most proud of?

The thing that I’m MOST proud of is my humility. Kind of silly to list my humility as I’m bragging about it, but I’m proud I didn’t let fame , success, popularity, or whatever you want to refer to it as, change my character. I’m still just a nice girl who loves being in love, who loves to laugh and play. I’ll always be true to myself and nothing will ever change my character.

Random question, but what’s your favorite food?

It’s always Mexican or sushi.

What else should fans expect to see from you in 2017?

You can expect to see me do more stand up comedy. That’s a big focus in my career right now. On the adult side of things, you can expect frequent never before seen updates on my website and more movies that I have directed.
