10. Maya Woulfe
If you weren’t paying attention to Maya Woulfe this year then you’ve been missing out. A 2022 AVN and XBIZ Best New Starlet nominee, Maya performed in about 50 XXX scenes during the previous twelve months and has worked with some of the biggest studios along the way. Highlight of hers would include her showings in such bangers as Naughty Schoolgirls 2 (Evil Angel), Squirting Babysitters (Third Degree Films) and Daddy’s Girl Vol. 3 (Family Sinners).
9. Coco Lovelock
Coco Lovelock might not yet be a porn superstar but if she continues to do what she did all across 2021, she will be soon. “Quality you can taste” is how she describes herself in her Twitter bio and the quality of her hardcore talent was certainly on display in films such as Teen Size Queens (Dark X), Blacked Raw V44 (Blacked) and Blonde Babes 2 (Dark X). Coco’s work has also received a lot of attention from the folks who hand out industry award nominations as proven by the grip of nods that she received from the likes of AVN, XBIZ and Fleshbot.
8. Kayley Gunner
I had big expectations for Kayley Gunner going into 2021 and she did not disappoint on any level. An AVN and XBIZ Best New Starlet nominee, Kayley was continuously impressive all through her first full year in the dirty movie business. Highlights of hers would include XXX joints such as Trailer Park Girls (Wicked Pictures), The Big Black Cock Invasion 4 (West Coast Productions) and Street Fighter V: A XXX Parody (VRCosplayX).
7. Gizelle Blanco
Gizelle Blanco probably accomplished more than you did this year. I mean, she was the June Cherry of the Month. And the November Bang Babe. She also performed in 50-ish XXX videos, which included giving solid performances in such films as Vibes Vol. 4 (Vixen), Bad Girls Crave Cock (Spizoo) and Hot as Fuck 2 (Jules Jordan Video). 6. Alina Ali
Even if you weren’t already paying attention to Alina Ali coming into 2021, her performance throughout the year made it damn hard for anyone to ignore her. Time and again, this lady delivered hugely impressive showings in films such as Glamcore (Wicked Pictures), Black Beauties 3 (All Black X) and If It Feels Good Vol. 2 (Deeper). Her talents helped earn her a collective five AVN and XBIZ award nominations which include two Best New Starlet nods.
5. Angel Youngs
Of all the women featured on this list, I’m not sure anyone worked harder than Angel Youngs. I say that because when browsing through new releases throughout the year, her name was constantly popping up. In fact, Angel performed in damn near 100 hardcore scenes during 2021 and that’s a lot. Highlights of hers would certainly include She’s More Stacked Than Her Mom (Devil’s Film), Babysitters Wanted 2 (Reality Junkies) and Bad Lesbian 13 (Girlfriends Films).
4. Destiny Cruz
Destiny Cruz was a damn force of nature in 2021. In her first full year in Porn, Destiny worked with nearly every major US studio and performed in close to 90 dirty videos plus the stuff that she did for her Onlyfans. XBIZ, Fleshbot and AVN all nominated her for various awards and that’s not surprising at all considering the talent that Destiny had on full display all during the previous twelve months. Some of her best work was in such flicks as In-Laws (Family Sinners), Muse Season 2 (Deeper) and YA! Young Anal 2 (Evil Angel).
3. Anna Claire Clouds
How awesome is Anna Claire Clouds at her job? Well, she was just nominated for four 2022 AVN Best Sex Scene awards in addition to a Best New Starlet nomination. Those accolades are well deserved. For proof of that, just go see what she did in such joints as Hot As Fuck 3 (Jules Jordan Video), Evil Squirters 6 (Evil Angel) or Her First MILF 29 (Doghouse Digital). Maddy May made 2021 her bitch. That’s a bold statement but not really if you were paying attention to her as closely as I was throughout the past year. Time and again, Maddy crafted some of the hottest hardcore scenes of anyone in the business and firmly established herself as someone right on the verge of achieving XXX superstardom. Some of her best stuff was featured in movies such as Uncut 4 (Evil Angel), Dredd 12 (Jules Jordan Video) and Anal Exclusive (Evil Angel).
1. April Olsen
April Olsen is Die-Screaming’s selection for the Best New Starlet of 2021. While each and every woman included on this Top 10 put together award-worthy performances all across the year, April stand apart in my opinion. Some of her finest work was in adult films such as Anal Insight (Evil Angel), Lesbian Analingus 15 (Sweetheart Video) and Mistress Maitland 2 (Deeper). If you need any additional convincing of how dominant Ms. Olsen was in 2021, just go lookup all of the industry awards for which she’s been nominated (spoiler: it’s a lot).
About this year’s Top 10 Best New Starlet rankings…
This is the eighth year that I’ve assembled these Best New Starlet rankings for Die-Screaming. And as I say every year…ranking people is stupid. On top of that, it’s really impossible to put together any kind of “perfect” Top 10, especially for a category like this, because so many deserving ladies will be left off because there’s only room for ten.
All of that being said and out of the way, let me talk a bit about how these rankings were calculated. 27 women who qualify as “new starlets” were scored against 11 separate categories. The ladies with the ten highest scores are the ones you see here on this list. I won’t tell you my exact scoring methodology but I can tell you a few statistical tidbits to maybe put the rankings in better context…
- The fewest number of points between any two positions was a tie between #2 and #3 and #8 and #9, each of which had a separation of less than a tenth of a point. The largest point spread between any two consecutive positions was between positions #1 and #2 which had 4.4 points between them.
- 10.1 points separated positions #1 and #10.
- Five performers were each one point or less away from making the Top 10.
