10. Seth Gamble
2016 was another impressive year for XXX veteran Seth Gamble. He performed in some of the biggest films of the year, including SUICIDE SQUAD XXX (Wicked Pictures) and I BLACKMAILED MY STEPMOM’S ASS (Evil Angel). He’s nominated for by both AVN and XBIZ for Best Actor and is a XBIZ Male Performer of the Year nominee.
9. Tommy Pistol
One of the most all-around talented people in porn, Tommy Pistol didn’t disappoint in 2016. His roles in CINDY, QUEEN OF HELL (BurningAngel Entertainment), ANALMALS 2 (Evil Angel) and SUICIDE SQUAD XXX (Wicked Pictures) helped earn him nominations in pretty much every Best Scene category AVN could think of, including Most Outrageous Sex Scene. He’s also up for AVN’s Male Performer of the Year and XBIZ’s Best Actor trophies.
8. Ramon Nomar
Ramon Nomar has been performing in porn since before most of us were legally allowed to be watching it and he’s still one of the best in the business, as he proved time and again in 2016. His performances in films like AVA’S ALL IN (ArchAngel) and FUCKING FLEXIBLE (Evil Angel) rank as some of the hottest scenes of the year. He was also nominated by both XBIZ and NightMoves for Male Performer of the Year.
7. Markus Dupree
Markus Dupree arguably had the best year of his career in 2016. Nominated for an impressive 9 AVN Awards, his performances in movies such as TEENS VS MILFS 4 (Evil Angel), GIRL/BOY 2 (Evil Angel) and MY DP (Tushy) were awesome as hell.
6. Ryan Driller
Porn’s very own Superman rocked the shit out of 2016, with his porn parody performances ranking as some of the very best of the year. Mr. Driller’s range of talent was on full display with his roles in SUPERGIRL XXX (Wicked Pictures), TRUE DETECTIVE XXX (Digital Playground) and TROUBLE X 2 (Wicked Pictures).
5. Isiah Maxwell
Isiah Maxwell had a breakout year in 2016, establishing himself as one of the the top male talents currently working in the dirty movie business. He had one of the best performances of the year in COLOR BLIND (Girlfriends Films) and had critically acclaimed roles in films like INTERRACIAL ORGIES (Blacked) and SORORITY SEX PARTY EXPERIENCE (Adam & Eve).
4. Manuel Ferrara
Manuel Ferrara will probably go down as one of the Top 5 best male performers in the history of porn. His work throughout 2016 served as a clinic on how to make great smut, with some of his best work being delivered in films that he also directed, including MANUEL’S POV VOL. 2 (Hard X), RAW 27 (Evil Angel) and SPECIAL DARK (Jules Jordan Video).
3. Chad White
Chad White’s performance in THE MARINE (EliteX Films) was one of the strongest of his career and helped catapult him into the forefront of discussions around Male Performer of the Year. Additionally, the body of his work throughout the year, including his roles in GOOD LITTLE GIRL (Pretty Dirty) and THE SWITCH (Girlfriends Films), left no doubt that Chad White is one of the very best in the industry.
2. Xander Corvus
Between his incredible performance in THE PREACHER’S DAUGHTER (Wicked Pictures) and his writing/directing/starring role in CINDY, QUEEN OF HELL (BurningAngel Entertainment), you would be hard pressed to name anyone who had a bigger year than Xander Corvus. In recognition of his work in 2016, Mr. Corvus earned a collective twenty-one AVN and XBIZ nominations.
1. Mick Blue
For the second consecutive year, Mick Blue is Die-Screaming’s #1 ranked Male Performer of the Year. From beginning to end, no one proved themselves to be as dominant in the porn industry in 2016 than Mick Blue. If you were to randomly select any three porn films released this year, chances are that Mick Blue would be featured in at least three of them. And his performance in BABYSITTING THE BAUMGARTNERS (Adam & Eve) helped make it one of the best-selling XXX films of the year.
About this year’s Best Male Pornstar rankings…
This is the third year that I’ve done the Top 10 Best Male Pornstar rankings for Die-Screaming. And while you might think that I just pull this shit out of thin air, I really don’t. Rather, I scored 61 male pornstars across seven categories and then fed those numbers into a top-secret formula to assign each dude an overall score. The guys with the ten highest scores are the ones you see above.
And while I won’t reveal my exact scoring methodology (because I’m an asshole), I can give you some utterly meaningless stats. Positions #1 and #10 were separated by a whopping 41.8 points, a sign of just how dominant Mick Blue was this year. To put that in perspective, positions #2 and #10 were only 19.5 points apart. Finally, 50% of the guys in this year’s Top 10 were also in last year’s rankings.
