When Emily Willis was crowned as the 2021 AVN Female Performer of the Year, it was significant for a few reasons. To start with, she was the XXX starlet that ended Angela White’s historic three year reign as the AVN FPOY. Her win also not only was a statement victory for Emily herself, but also served notice to the industry that the next generation of young female superstars had arrived to help usher in the next decade of Porn.
Angela White (2018 + 2019 + 2020)
Up until Tori Black won the AVN Female Performer of the Year trophy in 2010 and 2011, no one had ever won that award twice. So it speaks volumes about the dominance of Angela White that she won it for three consecutive years. An incredible actress, a super-hardcore XXX performer and armed with an addictively charismatic personality, Angela White could very well be the greatest female pornstar in the history of smut.
Adriana Chechik (2017)

Sasha Grey (2008)
Sasha Grey is arguably one of the most popular and talented women to ever have worked in porn. She entered the industry in 2006 when she was just 18 and almost immediately rocketed to superstar status. Before retiring in 2012, Ms. Grey appeared in nearly 300 hardcore films and won pretty much every major award imaginable. Even now, years after her retirement from porn, Sasha Grey remains one of the most searched pornstars on the Internet.
Hillary Scott (2007)
Hillary Scott was arguably one of the most popular and successful pornstar of the 2000’s. From 2002 to 2014, Scott appeared in over 500 hardcore movies and won dozens of major industry awards. Now a SiriusXM radio host, Ashley Blue was one of the porn industry’s top talent for most of the 2000’s. Nikita Denise (2002)
Nikita Denise is a Slovak pornstar who began her career in 2000. She went on to perform for well over a decade and appeared in over 350 hardcore films. In addition to her AVN Performer of the Year trophy, Ms. Denise also won several other major awards including the AVN Best Group Sex award (2002) and the AVN Best All-Girl Sex Scene (2003).
Jewel De’Nyle (2001)
Jewel De’Nyle began her adult film career in 1998 and was an instant superstar. Within her first month in the industry, she was signed to an exclusive contract with New Sensations. De’Nyle was a force within the industry, directing over 75 hardcore movies and co-founding Platinum X Pictures. Inari Vachs began her porn career in 1997 and was one of the industry’s hottest starlets until she retired in 2002. But then, in 2010, she started performing again for another two years. Over the span of her career, Ms. Vachs was credited with nearly 600 hardcore titles and is a member of the AVN and XRCO Halls of Fame.
Chloe (1999)
Chloe is arguably the most extreme pornstar of all time. In fact, she engaged in fisting in every single scene that she was in, though most of the directors edited it out because it was too much for even them. Stephanie Swift (1998)
Stephanie Swift was one of the most popular pornstars of the 1990’s and 2000’s. She began her adult film career in 1995 and appeared in over 400 hardcore movies before retiring in 2009. She left the business after being diagnosed with breast cancer and has since become very active with a group that attempts to bring religion into the lives of current and former pornstars and turn them away from the smut business.
Missy (1997)
Missy holds the distinction of being the only pornstar to have ever won the AVN Best New Starlet and Female Performer of the Year awards in the same year. She retired from porn in 2001, saying that she had found religion after suffering a mental breakdown. She died in 2008 from a medication overdose.
Kaitlyn Ashley (1996)
Kaitlyn Ashley was only in porn for 4 years, but she certainly made the most of it. Between 1993 and 1997, she performed in nearly 350 hardcore films, won the 1996 AVN Female Performer of the Year award and is a member of the AVN Hall of Fame.
Asia Carrera (1995)
With an IQ of 156, Asia Carrera may be the most intelligent woman on this list. She was also one of the most popular pornstars of the 1990’s, a member of both the XBIZ and AVN Halls of Fame, and has performed in over 400 hardcore films.
Debi Diamond (1994)
Debi Diamond first began performing in porn films back in 1980 and ended up being one of the most prolific adult performers of all time. She has well over 600 hardcore films to her credit and has been inducted into both the AVN and XBIZ Halls of Fame.
Ashlyn Gere (1993)
The year before becoming the very first AVN Female Performer of the Year, Ashlyn Gere also won same trophy at the XRCO Awards. In addition to having since been inducted into pretty much every adult film hall of fame, Ms. Gere also did some mainstream acting, appearing in the original X-Files TV show and the 1980’s film Creepozoids.
