Pornstar Alektra Blue no longer a Wicked contract girl
Alektra Blue has been an exclusive Wicked Pictures performer since 2008. She was, but she isn’t any more. In an interview yesterday, Alektra announced that she and Wicked had parted ways and that she was no longer under contract with the studio. After her announcement, Wicked responded and confirmed that Alektra Blue and Wicked were no longer an item. Ending ties to Wicked and her exclusive performance contract means that for the first time in five years, Alektra Blue is able to work with any studio she wants.
In an interview with a Pittsburgh radio station (you can see the full interview below), Alektra Blue made the announcement that she and Wicked Pictures had parted ways, saying…
I’m no longer with Wicked. I’m a free agent. I’m just leaving everything open. I want to get the word out because it’s been a while. I want to do everything smart. I want to start web-camming which I haven’t been able to do for my fans. … I can web-cam now. Basically, I’m coming out to the Internet.
We have ended our deal with Alektra Blue. We are proud of the body of work she created with Wicked and wish her good fortune in her future endeavors.
This is a pretty big deal, as Alektra Blue is one of the most popular pornstars currently working in the industry. As an example of that popularity, Ms. Blue currently has over 100,000 followers on Twitter. News of her becoming a “free agent” should have her fans pretty excited, as it opens a whole lot of possibilities for her in terms of what’s next. As she mentions above, it will allow her to begin webcamming, something that’s become a popular source of income for many pornstars.
I’m really not surprised to see Wicked and Alektra Blue ending their contract. While I’ve been a fan of most of her work since joining Wicked, I got the impression the studio never really spotlighted her as much as they could or should have. It just seemed that other stars like Stormy Daniels (who also writes and directs for Wicked), jessica drake, Lisa Ann, and Julia Ann were getting more on-camera time. Nothing against any of those ladies, they all certainly are deserving, but I just felt that at times, Wicked had too much talent and not enough leading roles for all of them. Seemed kind of crowded, in my opinion.
I’m sure we’ll be hearing much more about what Alektra Blue’s future holds in the coming days and weeks. As that news becomes available, I’ll be sure to pass it along. In the meantime, take a second to leave your thoughts in the comments below.
