Die-Screaming ranks the ten greatest XXX starlets of the year…
10. Emma Hix
Even though Emma Hix took a few months off towards the back half of the year to focus on her pregnancy, that didn’t stop her from putting together an incredibly impressive 2021. Emma’s hardcore work has always been top-tier and she definitely had that XXX intensity on full display in such films as Double Penetration Fixation 2 (Evil Angel), Slut Challenge (ToughLoveX) and Trailer Park Girls (Wicked Pictures). Her excellence certainly didn’t go unnoticed as she just earned Female Performer of the Year nods from both XBIZ and AVN, in addition to a bucket of other nominations.
9. Gianna Dior
Since she started doing porn in 2018, Gianna Dior has spent most of her career operating at a superstar level. In 2021, Gianna continued on the trajectory. Her performance in the highly-acclaimed Psychosexual (Vixen), one of the Top 10 best porn movies of 2021, earned her several award nominations and even a Hollywood billboard. She also gave very strong showings in such films as Heavenly Radio (Adam & Eve) and Flesh Hunter 15 (Jules Jordan Video). Like I said…superstar.
8. Vanna Bardot
Vanna Bardot did some things in 2021. Right at the beginning of the year, Vanna was named as the January Bang! Babe of the Month and the January Penthouse Pet of the Month. She closed out the year by being named the December Twisty’s Treat of the Month and earning her first AVN and XBIZ Female Performer of the Year nominations. In between all of that, Vanna delivered some scorchingly hot performances in films like Muse Season 2 (Deeper), Interracial Passion (Jules Jordan Video) and Perfect Tens (DarkX).
7. Scarlit Scandal
Ranked by Die-Screaming as the Best New Starlet of 2020, it’s really not surprising to now see Scarlit Scandal making the Top 10 Best Female Pornstars of 2021 list. This lady consistently knocked it out of the XXX park all across the previous 12 months, especially with her performances in such adult flicks as In-Laws (Family Sinners), Black Beauties 3 (All Black X) and Starlets 2021 (Elegant Angel). Scarlit capped all of that off by earning herself Female Performer of the Year nods from both AVN and XBIZ along with a nomination from XBIZ for Girl/Girl Performer of the Year.
6. Kenna James
Did Kenna James just put up the best year of her career? Maybe. Kenna performed in some of the best-selling and most acclaimed hardcore releases of 2021, with examples being her work in joints such as The Red Room (Wicked Pictures), Frisky Anal Nymphos (Evil Angel) and Under The Veil (MissaX). She was also recently cast as Mary Jane in Axel Braun’s upcoming SpideyPool XXX parody. And when it comes to major industry honors, Kenna James just earned 11 collective nominations from AVN and XBIZ, including Best Actress, Most Outrageous Sex Scene and Female Performer of the Year consideration.
5. Alexis Tae
Alexis Tae had a damn impressive 2020. What she did in 2021 was even better. Her XXX showcase film — Alexis Tae Anal Fantasy (Evil Angel) — was certainly one of the year’s very best and worthy of all the hype and acclaim that it’s received. Alexis was also on point with her efforts in films such as Glamcore (Wicked Pictures) and Anal Stars 2 (Evil Angel). If you weren’t thinking of Ms. Tae as one of the most elite women currently working in Smut at the beginning of this year…you should be by now.
4. Jane Wilde
Jane Wilde spent much of 2021 using her butthole to help make the world a better place. Unquestionably one of the industry’s most special talents, Jane is unsurprisingly once again nominated by pretty much everyone for Female Performer of the Year along with close to every other major award for which a pornstar can be considered. Highlights of Jane’s would include Then There Were Three (Sweet Sinner), DP Me Vol. 12 (Hard X) and Anal Size Queens (Evil Angel).
3. Gia Derza
Nobody fucks harder than Gia Derza and she spend the better part of 2021 proving that point over and over. Her heroic hardcore talents were on full display in such adult films as Extreme Lesbian Anal (LesbianX), Gape For Days (Evil Angel) and Manuel Opens Their Asses 8 (Jules Jordan Video). In addition to repeatedly delivering some of the hardest of hardcore performances, Gia gave us more than almost anyone in 2021 with over 100 XXX scenes to her credit. That’s more sex than most people have in their entire lives.
2. Angela White
If you wanted to say that Angela White is the most important pornstar of the past decade, I wouldn’t argue against you. Angela gifted us with multiple examples all throughout 2021 as to why she must be considered one of the most talented XXX performers the industry has ever seen. Some of her best work includes such bangers as Anal Antics 3 (Evil Angel), Anal Savages 7 (Jules Jordan Video) and Angela Loves Threesomes 3 (AGW Entertainment). Don’t be surprised at all if she wins a fourth AVN Female Performer of the Year trophy a few weeks from now.
1. Emily Willis
Emily Willis is Die-Screaming’s selection for the best female pornstar of 2021. This is the second consecutive year that Emily has achieved that honor, an indication of how dominant she’s become within the adult entertainment business. Examples of her best work would include her performances in such films as The Art Of Anal Sex 13 (Tushy), Anal Creampie Lessons 9 (Vision Films) and her absolutely incredible showcase film; Influence 2 (Vixen). As evidenced by the year she just put together, nobody in smut is doing XXX any better than Emily Willis.
About this year’s Top 10 Best Female Pornstar rankings…
This is the eighth year running that I’ve crafted the Top 10 best female pornstar rankings for Die-Screaming. As I mention every year, no “top ten” list is perfect and that’s especially true with a category as broad as this one. For every woman featured on this list, there’s probably at least three others that deserve recognition for their 2021 XXX efforts but because there can only be ten…there can only be ten.
As I’ve done for each of the years that I’ve put these lists together, I rely on a system that scores performers across 11 categories. This year, 118 XXX starlets were scored and the ten women with the highest scores are the ones you see up above. Because cold-hearted math is used to determine the Top 10, it removes the possibility of me just picking whoever the hell I want for whatever spot I want based on whatever mood I happen to be in at the time.
I won’t give you the exact scoring methodology that I use to assemble these rankings (BECAUSE I AM MYSTERIOUS!), but I can provide some statistics to maybe help put the rankings in better context…
- The largest sum of points separating any two consecutive spots in the Top 10 was between #1 and #2, which had 3.3 points between them. The smallest gap between positions was #9 and #10, which were separated by just 0.1 point.
- 13.8 points separated positions #1 and #10.
- Five performers were each four points or less away from making the Top 10.
- 40% of the women featured on this year’s Top 10 were also included in the 2020 rankings.

I already mentioned the fact that no Top 10 list, this one included, is perfect. But I think the rankings you see up top are as fair and accurate as anyone could come up with and I stand by them.
