The Marvel Comics relaunch - code named ”Marvel NOW!” – is set to begin in October with Uncanny Avengers #1. Written by Rick Remender and drawn by John Cassaday, Uncanny Avengers will become the flagship title for Marvel, setting the tone for this new era of the Marvel Universe. And when a new series debuts, you can bet your ass that there will be more than just a few variant covers for collectors to throw money at. While I’m sure there’s still more to come, here’s a look at a bunch of Uncanny Avengers covers as well as an Uncanny Avengers themed poster for the upcoming New York Comic Con.
Before getting to the art, however, it may be worth providing some of the plot to this new series. To quote from the official Marvel Comics description…
THIS IS IT! The greatest era of the Marvel Universe starts here! From the ashes of AvX an all-new, all-different Avengers assemble! Captain America begins his quest to create a sanctioned Avengers unit comprised of Avengers and X-Men, humans and mutants working together – so why is Professor Xavier’s dream more at risk than ever? The first attack of the most loathsome villain in history will quake the Marvel Universe forever!
And, adding to that, here’s the Marvel solicitation for November’s Uncanny Avengers #2…
What are The Red Skull’s new powers? How did he become the most powerful man on Earth? Can Havok and Thor defeat the spreading influence of Honest John, The Living Propaganda?! Rogue and Scarlet Witch trapped on the Isle of the Red Skull’s S-Men! Wolverine & Captain America: uncover the truth behind the worldwide mutant assassination epidemic!
