As the events of Avengers vs X-Men have started to heat up, a question a lot of people have had is, “Where is Professor X during all of this?” And it’s a fair question. The mutant super team that he founded, the X-Men, are at war with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the Avengers. Additionally, the Phoenix Force seems poised to take Hope Summers, a mutant, as its next host, an event that could put the entire universe in peril. So, during all of this, where is Professor X? Well, Marvel has revealed that he is about to reveal himself in the pages of Avengers vs X-Men #6.

At a panel that took place at this past weekend’s Kapow convention in London, Marvel Comics gave the audience a sneak peak at some upcoming pages from Avengers vs X-Men #5 and #6. The most noteworthy piece of news to come out of that was the appearance of Professor Xavier making an appearance, apparently also meeting Magneto. Now, for those that may not be up to speed on their X-Men story lines, Professor Xavier is no longer a mutant. This was a result of Xavier making some sort of deal with Wanda Maximoff (aka Scarlet Witch and Magneto’s daughter) to restore him the use of his legs, with him giving up his mutant abilities in the process. So what we have, then, is the world’s formally most powerful mutant, Xavier, about to get involved, in some capacity, with the events in Avengers vs X-Men. Does anyone else see this ending with Professor X somehow getting his mutant powers back?
So what are your thoughts on the involvement of Professor Xavier in the Avengers vs X-Men saga? What role do you see him playing? Will Professor X stand with the X-Men (keeping in mind that Cyclops currently kind of hates him) or with the Avengers? Share your opinions and theories in the comments below.
