Pokemaniacs, rejoice! Nintendo posted a new trailer for the upcoming Poke-sequels to Pokemon.co.jp earlier today. This trailer breaks from traditional format by using no in-game footage. Instead, it has nearly five minutes of anime-style sequences. The trailer begins with a cryptic shot of N, the antagonist from the first Black & White games, walking through a thick fog. Then, a shredding metal guitar riff kicks in behind shots of Pokemon battles and character montages culminating in an explosion-laden confrontation between Black Kyurem and White Kyurem, the games’ featured legendary creatures.
This trailer seems to indicate that the upcoming Pokemon games will break new ground for the franchise, perhaps moving in a more story-oriented direction. According to Pokemon.com, the games will have a Fall 2012 US release.
