Yesterday, DC Comics provided us with the first images of the New 52 Justice Society. Sort of. The cover art to both the relaunched World’s Finest and Earth Two were revealed, showing off the characters who will comprise The Justice Society. World’s Finest, which historically had featured Superman/Batman stories, will now feature Huntress and Power Girl, who’ve been stranded in the regular DC Universe and who are fighting to find away back to their home dimension of Earth Two. And, speaking of Earth Two, there’s a comic series for that. Is this the first step towards DC introducing the New 52 Justice Society?

The biggest news to come out of this is that, for the most part, people really hate the new Power Girl costume. Here’s a sampling of some Twitter reaction to the new outfit…
Let’s be honest here; the controversy surrounding this new Power Girl costume has everything to do with the fact that DC has closed the “boob window” that had long been her trademark. And now that she’s wearing pants, as opposed to the mini-skirt, this is probably the least we’ve seen of Power Girl’s flesh. This will, no doubt, send both signs of relief and cries of outrage through the cosplay community. But whatever. Enough talk about Power Girl and her now properly concealed boobs.
Both Earth Two and World’s Finest are set to kick off in May, as part of DC’s “Second Wave” of New 52 books. As I mentioned above, the plot of World’s Finest involves Power Girl and Huntress (who, in their home world, are Supergirl and Robin) getting somehow stranded in the “main” DC Universe. Which, of course, leads to the question; When, if ever, does DC plan on merging the two Earths, thus bringing the Justice Society into the primary DCU continuity? And, who are these Earth-2 heroes? Are we looking at Dick Grayson and Donna Troy? And where are the other Earth-2 heroes?
