Gay Japanese pornstar Masaki Koh passes away
Masaki Koh has died at the age of 29. The hugely popular gay pornstar had quickly established himself as an icon and challenged strictly conservative Japanese culture. Masaki Koh was a celebrity, a role model, and a pioneer. The void that his passing leaves will be massive, as will the effect of his legacy on not just gay porn, but on the adult industry as a whole. Saying that he will be missed doesn’t even begin to properly express the emotions being felt by his legion of fans around the world.
It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you all that on May 18 2013 at 6:21 am, Koh Masaki has passed away.
The tragic news has been announced by his partner, Tien Tien, who revealed that Koh was receiving treatments from a ruptured cecal (which is considered the beginning of the large intestine) due to peritonitis and has had surgery several times since last month.
This is a sad day not only for us but also for his family, partner, and friends who have always supported his career. We will always love you Koh Masaki.
Masaki Koh made his porn debut in 2009. Between then and now, Koh has appeared in well over one-hundred adult films and had achieved celebrity status in his homeland of Japan. While most gay pornstars in Japan still opt to have their faces blurred out to help protect their identities, Koh was unabashedly open about his sexuality and his profession. In refusing to closet his homosexuality, Koh became a hero to the LGBT community.
