DC Comics Trademarks New Logo

So, a few days ago, DC Comics filed for a trademark on a new logo design.  The new design, which uses Gotham font (clever, eh?), appears to very much resemble a sticker being peeled away.  And while filing for a trademark on a new logo doesn’t necessarily mean that it will end up being used, it does seem to indicate that DC is at least considering it, replacing it’s current logo, which it had been using since 2005.  At any rate, with anything new, expect a lot of criticism regarding this newly designed DC Comics logo.  And, honestly, I also kind of hate it.

But that’s just my opinion.  To try and get a better idea of what others think of the new DC Comics logo, I did a search on Twitter for “new dc logo” and this is a sampling of what I got…

So, yeah, overall the people who are taking the time to speak about DC’s new logo aren’t exactly in love with it.  And, along with the above tweets, the following image also showed up in those same Twitter search results…

<sigh>  Anyway, no word yet on when, or if, DC plans on using this new logo on either its comic books or movie properties.  So what do you all think about the new DC Comics logo?  Share your thoughts in the comments below.
