Dark Knight Rises Poster Adds Some Sexy

The Dark Knight Rises is, by all accounts, going to be a dark movie.  All of the official posters and trailers that we’ve seen so far have carried on the theme of doom, darkness, and the legend of Batman coming to an end.  However, a new poster for The Dark Knight Rises adds a little bit of sex appeal to the mix, while still maintaining the dark overtones of the other marketing material.  To achieve this, the people at Warner Brothers followed a tried and true formula guaranteed to get people’s attention; Add some lipstick and high heels.

The poster, which features Catwoman (or maybe a kinky Alfred?) crushing a Bat-o-rang with her impressively high heel.  And while this goes back to the classic complaint about women in comics dressing sexy instead of functionally, an argument could be made that having a six inch blade on the bottom of her foot gives Catwoman quite a bit of functionality.  While, yes, making her butt look good, as well.  This particular poster was “revealed” when a QR code that was featured on the last round of Dark Knight Rises posters is scanned with a smartphone.  So don’t expect to see this particular poster hanging in your local theater.  At least not right away.
