Buffy the Vampire Slayer vs Aliens

For its 2012 Free Comic Book Day (5/5/2012) offering, Dark Horse Comics is going to be going big; Buffy the Vampire Slayer vs Aliens.  Why is Buffy in space?  Why are their Aliens trying to kill her?  Does it matter?  It’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer vs Aliens and its free.  If there’s anything about that last sentence that you didn’t enjoy then, well, you should probably check your pulse.  You might be dead.  But seriously, what’s not to like about a free comic book like this?

So what’s the plot behind this thing?  Why and how is Buffy the Vampire Slayer going up against a spaceship full of Aliens?  Well, to be honest, I’m not sure.  Like many publishers, Dark Horse is keeping the details to is Free Comic Book Day offerings pretty close to the vest.  In fact, just hours before FCBD 2012 is set to kick off, I’ve only seen a single panel from the book, which originally appeared over on Bleeding Cool.  And, of course, that single image is about as vague as possible, only showing both Buffy and the Aliens from behind and sort of blurry.

Now, without knowing anything about this book, aside from the above panel, I have to imagine that Buffy the Vampire Slayer is more than capable of dealing with some Aliens.  That being said, it would also probably one hell of an interesting battle.  I give Buffy the edge in this one because considering her extremely high success rate at murdering the shit out of vampires, which are pretty damn hard to kill, I really don’t see her getting too outmatched by the Aliens.  However, I suppose that since this story apparently takes place in space, on some sort of ship, perhaps Buffy will be a bit outside of her element, thus giving at least some sort of advantage to the Aliens.  All of that being said, though, I think this fight goes to Buffy the Vampire Alien Slayer.
