Best Buy - October Launch Date for Apple iPhone 5

Best Buy expects to begin selling the iPhone 5 during the first week of October

Rumors have been raging that Apple’s next generation iPhone, the iPhone 5, will be released sometime this Fall.  Now, there is some actual basis to justify those rumors.  A Best Buy employee has provided internal documents to the BRG blog, showing that the company is expecting and planning for the new iPhone to be launched the first week of October.  Additionally, the documents also support the rumor that the iPhone 5 will now be available to Sprint customers.  Based off of these documents, it would seem that we are now less than a month away from seeing what this iPhone 5 is all about.

It should be noted, however, that Best Buy has made it clear that while it’s planning on a first week of October launch for the iPhone 5, the exact dates aren’t set in stone and are subject to change.  That being said, it would make sense that Best Buy didn’t just pull this date out of a hat.  The October time frame had to be based on some kind of reliable information or guidance that was handed down from Apple.  So if Best Buy is planning on selling the iPhone 5 during the first week of October, it’s a safe bet that this is when we can expect to see the new iPhone hit store shelves, or at least be made available for pre-order.

So when should we expect Apple to officially reveal the new iPhone?  Hard to say, but I’d say that will be coming at some point in the last half of this month.  This would give the company time to introduce the phone to the public, hype the shit out of all its new features, and also give the iPhone carriers time to do some of their own marketing (expect Sprint to sell the shit out of the its unlimited data plan along with their acquisition of the iPhone to its network).  But, hey, who knows?  What are your thoughts on all of this iPhone 5 madness?  Let me know in the comments.
