The most important porn forum of all time could be shut down.
Without question, AdultDVDTalk.com is one of the best porn commentary sites. Ever. The site has been around since 1999 and since its inception, has served to directly connect the people who make and perform in XXX with the people who consume and love it. And now, because of a lawsuit, Adult DVD Talk is in danger of being closed forever.
The husband/wife team that owns and operates AdultDVDTalk.com is being sued because eight pictures of some celebrites were posted by a user in one of the site’s forums. The company who owns the copyrights to those pictures filed a $2.4 Million lawsuit against the couple. As a result, the future of AdultDVDTalk.com is now in serious jeopardy.
Steph and Drew Black, the couple who founded and now operates the site, has posted an urgent plea for help, saying…
Since 1999, AdultDVDTalk.com (ADT) has provided a space for fans, performers, directors, retailers and industry insiders to connect. Between movie reviews, interviews and forum discussion, the volunteer efforts of thousands in the community, ADT has become an indispensable resource. Unfortunately, one opportunistic lawsuit threatens the hard work that so many people have put into ADT.
Copyright Trolls are suing AdultDVDTalk for $2.4million and to shut down the website over eight images of celebrities posted in the forum. They did not ask us to remove the images. They did not contact us before filing a lawsuit*. We’re a husband/wife team who run ADT out of our home part-time. We can’t afford to fight this lawsuit and keep AdultDVDTalk alive without your help.
How can you help?
As Mr. and Mrs. Black mention in the excerpt above, they can’t afford to fight this lawsuit without some financial assistance. They’ve set up a Legal Defense Fund and are asking for donations to help finance their upcoming legal battle. As of this writing, $4,764 has been donated from supporters, against a goal of $30,000.
Additionally, even if you can’t afford to donate some cash, it’s equally important to help make some noise about all of this. Take to social media and help spread the word about what’s happening. Use #KeepTalkAlive in your tweets to help get that hashtag trending.
Die-Screaming supports AdultDVDTalk.com
I’ve never met Drew or Steph Black, but I have a huge amount of respect for what they’ve created with AdultDVDTalk.com. I consider that site the gold standard of adult entertainment forums/blogs and the site has proven to be a treasure to the community of fans, performers, and directors that it serves.
I’m arguably the worst porn blogger in the history of porn bloggers and reading Die-Screaming on a regular basis might actually make you stupider. That being said, I would encourage anyone who is reading this to help support AdultDVDTalk.com in any way you can, because that is a website that porn fans everywhere should want to stand up for and help protect.
If we lose AdultDVDTalk, that would be a very bad thing. This is something worth fighting for and we all need to do exactly that.
