12 Years a Slave has now received the porn parody treatment.  Sort of.  Exile Distribution and Hot Mess Entertainment have partnered to produce 12 Inches a Slave.  The plot for the film is pretty simple; five girls become “addicted” to a guy’s big, black penis and become his sex slaves.  As you can imagine, this has caused a pretty massive hate-storm for all sorts of reasons.

And Howard Levine seems to be loving it.  Mr. Levine is the head of Exile Distribution and has been quoted as giving his full and unapologetic support to the film.  In his words

[12 Inches a Slave is] a heartwarming story about five white women who have become slaves to huge black cock.

Apparently someone in the actual Academy has seen our teaser ad. We already got a nasty email from a ‘mainstream’ editor, who ends his missive with the phrase ‘HOW DARE YOU,’ in all caps.

The teaser ad that Levine is referring to is a fake Oscar Awards marketing campaign poster that was created for 12 Inches a Slave.  The poster encourages fans to consider the 12 Years a Slave porn parody when submitting their votes for the Oscars.  The poster teases that 12 Inches a Slave is being nominated for several categories, including Best Picture, Most Ridiculous Title for an Interracial Movie, Best Smile During a Massive Facial, Best Grimace in Pain During Anal, and Worst Taste in Adult.

While I haven’t yet seen the film, from the sounds of it, 12 Inches a Slave isn’t a porn parody so much as it’s an interracial all-sex porn movie with a hugely controversial title.  And considering the genuinely somber and inspirational story behind 12 Years a Slave, it’s entirely understandable why so many people are so pissed about what Hot Mess and Exile have done with 12 Inches a Slave and its marketing campaign.

All of that being said, this isn’t the first porn connection 12 Years a Slave has seen.  Some of you may recall that movie critic Armond White wrote a scathing review for 12 Years a Slave, saying that it should be placed in the “Torture Porn” category of films.  That also set off a pretty major shit-storm, as almost all critics seem to agree that 12 Years a Slave is the best movie of 2013 by leaps and bounds.

12 Inches a Slave is set to be released on February 19th.  I haven’t yet seen a rundown of the cast, but as I have that information (or any other updates) on this hugely controversial porn film, I’ll be sure to pass it along.

What do you think?  Has Exile and Hot Mess gone too far with 12 Inches a Slave?  Or is this just an example of people getting all worked up over nothing?  Let us know in the comments below.
